Front Ends

yes, anything is possible, this has been done before mostly in sweden or outside of the us...

it will need the whole front end of an s70 though to work...

hood

grille

fenders

bumper

radiator support

headlights

turn signals

once you have all of those things its simply just bolting them on from there

and then having it painted of course.

Hell yeah it looks sweet! I'd suggest finding a totaled S/V 70 from the rear and rob it of its parts. Get some deals on painting and you're set. You'd have to paint all the black trim on the 850 body too but it looks awesome in the long run.

If you wanted just a "lookalike", I'd just pain the trim to the body color, and it'd be an awful lot easier to get that nice S/V/C70 "tailored" look :P

Just my thoughts - personally, I like the 850 nose better.

This is goung to sound like Im contradicting myself, but:

same here...although I think the V70 nose looks good on a Cross Country, I do prefer the 850 nose to the V70. I like its boxyness much more, as well as the 850 interior (especially the door panels)

Talk to Rocko from Sweden. He did it with his 850 and it looks awsome! I tried to get the photos but none worked.

Rocko's car dod look quite nice, but I have not seen it in a while. I od remember really liking the loodk of it, and he did a noice job with it.

dunno if the texture would match....but if he got every piece of trim smoothed and painted black, it may not look too good...too shiney. The mat finish (to me) is what makes the trim look good, but all body color would look quite clean and very very nice.

my $0.25

No no no, I think the trim has to be painted the body color, not black. When I said black, I meant black-gray-whatever. The X70R bumper doesn't have the gray strip going across so it would look weird if the side trim and rear bumper still had it. I think the whole body should be one color if doing this conversion
