That is one piece of beautiful fabrication!

But why cant they engineer the correct length front dampners? Kind of ruins the whole thing

They probably could but I agree it looks cool. Don't get mad. If we're bagging on it...I just wish they would have chosen a wheel with a lip and more agressive offset. Other than that, I'll take one.

I would say sticking with the T5 Turbo smacking in a supercharger, with a method of when the turbo reaches a set boost pressure, then it switches to the turbo, of course, completely pointless, but hey we like crazy ideas go for it and i want to see the outcome!

Rather than switch, what about hooking the intake from the SC up to the output from the TC? Then the SC would pull air through the turbo, and also create a vacuum to let the turbo spin up real quick? This way its just piping... no fancy switching.

seriously, why go through all the trouble of twincharging?

all you need is a 50 shot to cut out at about 3500 rpms when the turbo kicks in....no lag there i dont think...

anyway its the hot new setup for drifters in little high revving japaneseseses. cheap and reliable (about as reliable you can get with nitrous and a mondo turbo)

The only tt setup that I know of that uses a small and a large twin setup is the RX7 FD. A very effective fast spooling setup that, with just more boost pressure can spank most other cars on the road. As for twin charged rally audi's, "My bad" I was thinking of Lancia.

sequential turbos getting more common:

May give even better solution than VATN due to the extra control or be combined with VATN for the ultimate lag free set up throughout the rev range.

993 turbo also used sequential turbos like the setup described about the MKIV supras, except the second turbo was larger and the exhasut flow to the smaller turbo cut out when the bigger one started making boost. The new 997 turbo uses dual turbos in parallel with vatn technology, which is a lot like the 993 turbos except less complicated and more efficient. Before vatn, the sequential turbo set up was the best for less turbo lag, but now who needs it when you can use both turbos for both low-end and high-end? Its much better to have a less complicated system, less to go wrong and much easier to tune properly.

Ultimate VATN setup is controlled via an ECU type, opens accordingly with needed AR for that specific CFM/RPM......some new car coming out has a VATN-type setup, can't remember what.

No one on this board will have anything other than a single turbo anyway

(save those using a nitrous shot as well, which is really the only feasible/worthwhile option discussed in this thread)

while that's cool and all ... when stuff starts to break dealer techs are going to hang themselves
