TBM Posted November 19, 2007 Report Share Posted November 19, 2007 Luckily, I was able to get a code from the dealer OVER THE PHONE! It took 'em like an hour, but it's all good...I just called back. Now, the radio is displaying OFF. I can't afford to leave my car in Key Position II because of some battery issues (long story)...the question is: Does the method of removing the radio fuse work on a 98 S70? Guest BLOU Posted November 22, 2007 Report Share Posted November 22, 2007 If you need a code for your radio, the first step is to call or go see your local dealer. They should not charge you. Complain to a superior if someone tries to charge you. If the radio is original, they only need your VIN to look it up. If the radio has been replaced at some point, they will need the serial number from the radio.If that does not work for you, for whatever reason, post your serial and part numbers in this thread and we will try to help you further. You are able to find the serial number by removing the radio.If you have the code but you can't enter it because the radio displays "off," turn the ignition key to position 2 (II) for 2-3 hours. The radio will reset and display "code" again.Once you have your code, write it down! I don't recomend keeping it in the car, but to each their own.Hi Aye fellow Volvoites,I'm away to Aviemore for a Christmas Holiday and the kids will drive me nuts if I don't get the stereo fixed before then. We've both got the towbars for sheep trailers, but mine has a dog guard for keeping the collies in the boot too.Well I bought a compact disc player for it from this lad on ebay and I have not got a clue where I put the code or his email address.It is a SC-805Serial number V01590 X415E123FPart number 3533775-1It has some other numbers 13483 and 9904Has anyone got any idea what the code might be.
