Patrickw
i was drivin down the street and when i would push on the gas and the car wouldnt respond, the motor would rev but the car wouldnt move much. i decided to stop by my house not even thinkin of the problem and around the corner it did it again and the red arrow for winter mode started blinkin so i stopped to turn around and the car wouldnt move. i had to push it to the curb with the help of my neighbor and the car wont move it any gear including reverse. when its cooled down, the blinkin arrow goes away and it wants to move. im guessin trans is a paperweight now? any suggestions to save me time and $ would be greatly appreciated. thanks, patrick

RussB
Bummer How's the fluid look? How's the fluid level?
smokin' T5M
you should get codes for the PNP (neutral safety switch)313 and mode selector switch 114,124. otherwise a code for the shift solenoids. If its the switches then its easy, the solenoid codes mean NEW TRANS!
Ronny
Low fluid level would be the best case scenario. Hopefully you didin't burn it out in the mean time. :(
Patrickw
well from what i can tell it seems that the fluid level is fine in the trans.. it looks overfilled but i guess thats just the dipstick rubbing against the inside of the tube and picking up oil. however i checked the motor oil and OH $HIT it looks like there is no oil, i havent tried to start the car but last night the oil light wasnt on and the engine seemed fine with no noises. i didnt look clsely at the road but there may be some fluid under my car, and somethin has been leaking on my driveway for the past few weeks that had a brownish red tint to itEDIT: filled with oil, took about 1.5 quarts and took it for a spin around the block and checked the fluids again, oil is fine and atf looks the same.. i couldnt feel it wanting to slip, i stopped a few times and accelerated and it was still fine so ?? also i forgot to mention that i had the rear main seal done so they put in new trans fluid when they did that which was about 2 months ago

smokin' T5M
Like I said you should get a 313 PNP short circuit and/or a 114,124 Mode selector switch. It probaly was a glitch real quick. When the car starts a new drive cycle it doesn't see the fault anymore, hense no light. ;)

Über855R
I hope you didn't do this to your tranny...Good luck fixing your problem. This is the worst case scenario, if you are still driving I wouldn't worry about this being your trans yet.

850R Sleeper
I had an issue that sounds slightly similar. My car would drive perfectly fine when I first started it and drove around for a few minutes. Then after the engine warmed up, I would try to accelerate and the rpms would go up, but the car wouldn't accelerate. Even from a stop at a light, I would try to accelerate and the car would just sit there basically. I thought it was a transmission issue, but it ended up being a problem with my air intake. Fixed the intake, fixed the problem. Good luck with yours, I hope it's something as simple as mine.
FixerUpper
pnp bad.maybe you over revved engine and car couldnt shift, drew code i think it might be 232 but it is incorrect gear ratio.limp mode engaged, then car goes very very slow.a car in limp mode doesn't go too well from a stop, in fact, I don't think it will go up a hill from a stop.reset the tranny code (on/off 3/4 times, alarm will sound, code should clear)I bet you don't need a tranny at all.The exact same thing has happened to me. Good Luck.edit:is the tranny slipping, ie grabbing and letting go, or was it fine until tranny arrow flashing (limp mode, dtc stored)?
