Patrickw Posted October 10, 2006 Author Report Share Posted October 10, 2006 farking shat.. i was out drivin it a little more aggresively and i noticed it didnt want to shift freely, what i mean is it dosent shift like it used to as in it red-lined the motor 1 time and when i wold step on it in sport mode it would jerk hard when shifting.. still hoping the pnp will fix this if this is somethin more serious please let me know, Thanks for the help guys Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

FixerUpper Posted October 10, 2006 Report Share Posted October 10, 2006 if car is redlining, not shifting, you will keep getting tranny codes and entering limp mode.reset the light using the key technique-something I have not read here but I guarantee its true...drive forwards first. Don't back out. When your pnp is done like mine, it will not shift correctly if you go backwards first. Guest Delma Posted October 11, 2006 Report Share Posted October 11, 2006 i was drivin down the street and when i would push on the gas and the car wouldnt respond, the motor would rev but the car wouldnt move much. i decided to stop by my house not even thinkin of the problem and around the corner it did it again and the red arrow for winter mode started blinkin so i stopped to turn around and the car wouldnt move. i had to push it to the curb with the help of my neighbor and the car wont move it any gear including reverse. when its cooled down, the blinkin arrow goes away and it wants to move. im guessin trans is a paperweight now? any suggestions to save me time and $ would be greatly appreciated. thanks, patrickI have a 98 V70XC. A very similar thing happened to me. Everything's going fine then the next time I step on the gas it just revs the engine and hardly goes anywhere. The up arrow began flashing and the lights by the gear shifter began flashing back and forth between winter and economy mode. I felt that it was the trans but The first time I took it to the dealer they sent me home after cleaning the mode selector switch. But it happened again, this time they find TCM 324- gear 4 ratio. Traced to an internal fault in the trans!!Unbelievingly, this all happened 2 weeks before my 7 year warranty was to expire!! All $3000 paid for...67,000 miles. Take care and Good Luck!
