being on this board more gives you exposure man. with the condition of your paint, you pretty much had Best In Show.

Definately can't argue with that. Looks straight from the factory. All the cars were clean and great to see. Makes me want to do so much more to mine and get all the dents out. I'm worried about this winter with all the sand going to be used on the roads. No salt at least.

That's when you say "screw it" and do everything you want anyways, don't let other factors stop you.

What up Prasuede/Jay/Mike, Tahoe joke :P, glad that you guys made it down safely, did you like that IS burn out, ha-ha.

I wanted to thank Jason/Pras/Mike for picking me up and letting me cruise in both rides, awesome cars. Jason's car is hot too, the paint is in amazing condition plus the other goodies he added in less then 4 days, crazy!!!.

Prasuede, your ride is pimp, crazy drop, I got a few thumbs up while cruising on the freeway ;)

I'm too lazy to post all the pictures from the meet but follow the link below, nice to meet all of you who attended and hopefully my car will make the next meet.

Ben you're a big pimp  and awesome car too, way too much to list..

For those of you that didn't make it, we didn't miss ya at all :P jk..

Later,

Raf

Yeah Kevin, were sorry that you couldn't make it also. Although I am glad to not have had to compete with you for Best in show modified. The competition was tough as it is.

Was it people's choice or judged? If you both go to IPD next year, I can break out the VW judging sheets and put my 7 years of judging hat on.

ya, next year you'll get there on time, and then you can park with us. :P

enjoy your reign. I'll make the competition more tough next year. :D Time to email Lee and make sure the meet is in washington in 07. :P

but in all seriousness, congrats ben.

Yeah, the whole getting there late thing definitaly got me minus points at the davis show. Do you have any new plans for your car Kevin? I have some plans for the future that are going to turn my car into some really tough competition... I honestly thought this year that there were lots of really nice cars there. The fact that I won was a huge surprise to me. I barely got any pictures of my car even because I was so taken by the rides there, if anybody has some pics of my car I would love to see em. And just for the record I hope the meet is in washington too so that the NWC has no excuses for not showing up! :P

This one was judged and there was a peoples choice. I forgot to fill out my choice ballot and I think the same is true for lots of the people there, but I can't say for sure. Would you mind giving me a copy of said VW judging sheets just to see how they are setup? That sounds like fun having a VS judge also. I am proud to even have my car being compared to kevins so I would love to have that chance, if nothing else just to park next to him and take pictures.

dude, you would OWN Kevin's car, hands down. I've seen both in person now. No offense to Kevin, but dude, your car (Ben's) is about 100% more unique than any 850/70 I've seen, in person or in picture.

Amongst the 850/70 series cars. You gotta give credit where credit is due. That gold 164 of Bill Webb's was impeccable, so were a couple of the P1800s that I saw, like that one Pras got some shots of.

Pras, I spoke with one of the 850 modified class judges today. If you had a mod list and the engine compartment was a bit tidier you would have probably placed second. They didn't know you had a turbo upgrade, suede headliner, or coilovers.

Ben, it was great having your pops come with us too.

Yeah, but getting Best In Show for 1975 and up cars, comeon, that's ALOT of ownage right there man! But yes, I have to agree, some of the 164 and P1800's there were AMAZING, especially the Kevin green P1800, that was my second favorite car of the show, next to Ben's car.

About the judging, I'm not worried about it man, didn't even think twice about not winning anything. This is the first time my car has been judged, and I had no idea you're supposed to produce a mods list and have an empty trunk and keep your floormats outside along with the owners manual and crap. Oh well, maybe next time. I really could care less what judges and other people think about my car. As you can see, I've done what I wanted to with MY car. I like the red accents and decals, roof rails, lighting everywhere, etc. I enjoy driving it, and I do the mods for MY pleasure!

I really appreciate the compliments from all the guys at the meet and on the board, it gives me something to smile about. The red stickers and accents are staying exactly where they currently are.

The new VS decals, I must say, suck big balls though. The adhesive on them is shitty, and they blow right off in the wind. the font is too thin too. I'm thinking about getting my own made, and switching out the BlackJack sticker to silver. the other ones stay red though.

I would hate to have a concours winning car, so much work to keep it clean and the fact that you never really get to enjoy it out side of your climate controlled garage or trailer en route to shows :(

I know there are exceptions out there for daily driven car show winners (judged shows), but still, I am happy with how my car is and also accept that it won't win any real shows without a lot more work...
