I would hate to have a concours winning car, so much work to keep it clean and the fact that you never really get to enjoy it out side of your climate controlled garage or trailer en route to shows :(

I know there are exceptions out there for daily driven car show winners (judged shows), but still, I am happy with how my car is and also accept that it won't win any real shows without a lot more work...

My buddies dad won the pebble beach antique car show in his weekend driven 300sl gullwing. ;)

Yeah, but getting Best In Show for 1975 and up cars, comeon, that's ALOT of ownage right there man! But yes, I have to agree, some of the 164 and P1800's there were AMAZING, especially the Kevin green P1800, that was my second favorite car of the show, next to Ben's car.

About the judging, I'm not worried about it man, didn't even think twice about not winning anything. This is the first time my car has been judged, and I had no idea you're supposed to produce a mods list and have an empty trunk and keep your floormats outside along with the owners manual and crap. Oh well, maybe next time. I really could care less what judges and other people think about my car. As you can see, I've done what I wanted to with MY car. I like the red accents and decals, roof rails, lighting everywhere, etc. I enjoy driving it, and I do the mods for MY pleasure!

I really appreciate the compliments from all the guys at the meet and on the board, it gives me something to smile about. The red stickers and accents are staying exactly where they currently are.

The new VS decals, I must say, suck big balls though. The adhesive on them is shitty, and they blow right off in the wind. the font is too thin too. I'm thinking about getting my own made, and switching out the BlackJack sticker to silver. the other ones stay red though.

I know and I wasn't saying you should change anything. As for the mod list it's not required or anything, it's just many of your mods can go un-noticed if you don't know the car. It would be nice if during the judging the owners were asked questions about there cars and modifications instead of a mod list.

VS members took 1 2 3 in the 850 / 70 series modified. Now that's something to smile about. :D

Lee Cordner expressed his appreciation that VS played a part in all of us showing up. Bringing the newer Volvos into the mix with the VCOA club.

CJ,

Check your PM's!

I just did nothing???

BTW, mine is 20,000 + miles per year. 260k on the clock.

Raf, Your dogs look sweet, gotta bring em next time...oh and your car too!:lol:

I drive my car everyday, and most of the mods I have done were because the parts needed some replacing or upgrading anyway. I beat the hell out of my car every single day and I have the broken parts and tickets to prove it. Did anybody see the smoke cloud I left in the autox parking lot before I left the show? There goes about 200 miles off a set of pirelli pzero :D I think I am going to need new tires soon anyway.

The smoke was still coming out of the inside of the car when you drove by.

I had a good time, although I spent more time fixing my car over the weekend than I did actually enjoying myself.

Was'nt the best idea to buy a car and drive it 250 miles away from home 3 hours later as a shakedown, oh well.

I just got home 20 minutes ago. Seriously.

How that monkeyer who had something fall on his car at a carwash won the biggest fiasco of the meet over me is beyond me.

I'll post the full story later, it is VERY intresting. Today was one of the weirdest and most exhausting days of my life.

Big thanks to Doug for sticking around and giving me a hand on my car while most of you guys went out on the drive.

Ben, thanks for buying me those shots. You're a mf'ing pimp.

It was nice seeing everyone else too.

I need sleep.

I was really surprised I placed at all, let alone first. And Doug had a mod list!

The autocross was fun. I would have liked a longer course, but they did well for the space had. Hell, I won it, so I can't really complain at all, can I? :D

I will post up my pictures tomorrow. I don't have a whole lot though. I do have pictures of the supercharged 544. :)

Really good driving... you were really smooth out there... we had a fun little 3 way battle going on there between you, me(white dodge stratus), and John. It was a very fair course, took a some of the car out of it and more of the driver.
