just added a new friend to the ranks, so here goes it.

old jerk univega, fits me perfectly (55cm), bought for $60, and i've already put a decent chunk into it for new tires, drivetrain, brake and shifter cables, brake shoes, and grips. next of the list is a new seat, something a little more modern.

first impression, what a piece of crap (covered in cobwebs with a good bit of rust). now, what a fast ride!

Those cables are soooo long! Wrap 'em under the bar tape when you replace them so it looks cleaner. Looks amazing for $60.

nah, i'll rock it oldschool with the cable loops.

it's having a slight headshake which just means i need to retrue the wheel because it is stressed out now.

I used to ride Oury's. Now I ride nothing but Salsa's. The Salsa's are just so much more streamlined.

I concur. And the new Specialized grips are great, too. I went to the Specialized dealer demo day at Patapsco and rode the 2008 carbon fiber Stumpjumper S-Works and the newest SX Trail. 1.5 hours on each, and you can guess which one was the fastest, while the other was unreal on the rocks (and gave me the hardest workout).

a bit of a different breed than we've already seen here, this is my urban assault/dirt jump/daily beat around rig. its a 2005 Giant STP3 with a marzocchi dirt jumper fork, sunn rhyno lite wheels, race face prodigy dh cranks, dmr tension seeker, kenda k-rad tires, hayes mechanical discs and some other BS thrown in for good measure.

My new bike, just picked her up this weekend. Carbon fiber Trek OCLV 9800, Rock Shox SID, Shimano wheels and gears. I got it at the flea market and I don't really know much about it, just that its alot nicer than my previous Wal-Mart GT.

The best part is it was only 200.

Nice to see a lot of nice bikes on here. :)

Here are mine. The latest edition is this orange Gunnar Roadie frame. I am currently selling the orbea, and swapped all the parts over to the Gunnar.

I also have a Gunnar cyclocross bike:

..And a lot of you already know the Bridgestone:

Not pictured are a MASI Gran Corsa frame, my second road bike I purchased back in the day, which still has to get both seatstays replaced and paint/decal work, and a DeRosa Giro D'Italia which I gave to my father to ride.

..And in case you guys can't tell, I'm a big fan of steel frames. :)

I do like the ride of the Orbea....but after 2.5 hours is hurts my ass :D

I love the Gunnar...the frame taked the edge off just enough.

The Orbea is on eeebay starting at 300 frame, fork and integrated headset bearings, and seat clamp.

I wish I could afford that right now :(

On the bright side, I'm looking at a Mongoose FS1 frame for 15 bucks :D Also, my friends dad used to ride track but quit and has a couple frames just lying around. I believe they are mi size as well! Might pick those up for a reasonable price. Might be your size too Rod <nudge nudge hint hint>
