Bike Pics!

So, here's a crummy story on an incident involving a doctor, so filled with rage that he felt the need to slam on his brakes, causing the two bicyclists behind him to crash into/over his car. link

I know we have talked about it a few times and I have been hit a few times. Now especially on the group rides I carry the sig. The silhouette in the back pocket alone is enough to keep people polite.

Got mine from FedEx the other day, but have yet to take pics. It's a late 80's Schwinn World Sport my mom had laying around, so I decided it'd be a fun project.

Drew (Dongle) will be helping me fix it up and swapping it to fixed gear. So it's in pieces at his place waiting to get cleaned and "modded." Mmmm...can't wait. I'll get some pics up soon! This is basically what it looks like now:

I think my favorite thing is the sweet 80's decals. Soo pimp.

Holding it down for the Texas Fixed Grrr?

Wheels are a little pedestrian, but those are some super classy bikes. Moots, mmmmmmmmm. I wanna lick the welds.

Moots: Zip 95/208 28/32 Hubs, Sapim CX-RAY Aero Spokes, DT AL Nipples, DT RR1.1 Rims. Built by Steve Gravenites.

Colnago: DT Swiss 240S 28/32 Hubs, Sapim CX-RAY Aero Spokes, DT AL Nipples, DT RR1.1 Rims. Built by Steve Gravenites.

These are pedestrian wheels? ;) Glad you like the bikes. Thank you for your compliment. -Wm.

now here are some wheels... :)

I do like the Topolino design. Carbon rims? I'd love to have some wheels buit with carbon rims, but at my weight (218 lbs....), I'm unwilling to take a chance. I've never had a problem with Steve's builds - his wheels run true no matter what I do (within reason, of course).

I envy you if you can ride carbon fiber wheels.

No offense but I would never trust welding a freewheel like that on a fixed gear. Track wheelsets are as cheap as $100 on ebay (or local CL ads). You also won't find a 27" track wheelset (at least cheap).

Also, get some clips and run a brake!
