Che'_Moderator
So, here's a crummy story on an incident involving a doctor, so filled with rage that he felt the need to slam on his brakes, causing the two bicyclists behind him to crash into/over his car. linkI know we have talked about it a few times and I have been hit a few times. Now especially on the group rides I carry the sig. The silhouette in the back pocket alone is enough to keep people polite.
Spoony
Got mine from FedEx the other day, but have yet to take pics. It's a late 80's Schwinn World Sport my mom had laying around, so I decided it'd be a fun project.Drew (Dongle) will be helping me fix it up and swapping it to fixed gear. So it's in pieces at his place waiting to get cleaned and "modded." Mmmm...can't wait. I'll get some pics up soon! This is basically what it looks like now:I think my favorite thing is the sweet 80's decals. Soo pimp.Holding it down for the Texas Fixed Grrr? kenhoeve
now here are some wheels... i posted this once, but should have been in this thread anyway...
need11@47
now here are some wheels... I do like the Topolino design. Carbon rims? I'd love to have some wheels buit with carbon rims, but at my weight (218 lbs....), I'm unwilling to take a chance. I've never had a problem with Steve's builds - his wheels run true no matter what I do (within reason, of course).I envy you if you can ride carbon fiber wheels. kenhoeve
yeah, carbon tubulars. for me, climbing wheels only but I could ride them full time. I only weigh a buck fiddy five though. There are few things quite as satisfying as a reliable wheelset, I'm with you on that.
need11@47
I only weigh a buck fiddy five though.I could live with 180. I need to stop lifting weights. And eating Oreos. Double Stuffed...My next build is:

BtownVolvo
That was fast, looks good. Thanks dood! It should be noted that EVERYTHING on that bike is completely original except tires and handlebar tape. The wheels and welded gears are staying for now, but some true "fixed" wheels are in the works...
Spoony
No offense but I would never trust welding a freewheel like that on a fixed gear. Track wheelsets are as cheap as $100 on ebay (or local CL ads). You also won't find a 27" track wheelset (at least cheap). Also, get some clips and run a brake!
