BurgerBob
Just bought the Kestrel. Been riding this for a hot minute (and likely selling it): And about to build this frame up:
Black Betty
I have a bunch of vacation to use up before the end of the year so I've been making a habit to hit all the local parks. Seneca Creek State Park in Germantown, MD
matt b
Been canceled Buyer left me glowing feedback, couldn't believe I used wax on the frame and cleaned the cassette for him. Glad he likes it, he says it looks better than any used bike he's seen. He already asked about my current frame. Speaking of which, come on Thursday!!!!!!
BurgerBob
^ If that thing doesn't haul ass, it's not the frame's fault.

Seneca Creek State Park in Germantown, MD John, Seneca, it's not worth it, at least the last time I rode it. Hit Schaffer Farms, that's the best in the area. Patapsco by your folks house was great too. I loved entering thru Landing road.

Patapsco by your folks house was great too. I loved entering thru Landing road. I was trying to find my way from Seneca into Schaffer, but didn't manage to. Speaking of Patapsco I rode there yesterday with the folks. Mom has done some trails before but it was dad's first time and I think they enjoyed it. Patapsco is really busy on the weekends and no one understands trail etiquette. People hanging out at the bottom of stream crossings, people not yielding properly on uphills. Riding during the weekday is awesome though, I just have to yell "Bicycle" and the old couples go scurrying off the track pretty quick

Riding during the weekday is awesome though, I just have to yell "Bicycle" and the old couples go scurrying off the track pretty quick I have to admit last time I rode Patapsco and Schaffer was close to 10yrs ago. The biggest issue at Patapsco, Landing Road side of the park, was not getting run over by someone on a horse. I remeber this 80yr dude that used to fly on his horse, he was the oldest. And the trail hazards will be there always on the weekends, unless you hit it EARLY! That's cool that your mom rides there, I could see your dad enjoying it... When I was working in B-more I used ride every Monday early. When I had my ridged frame bike, it would take me maybe close to 2 hours to do a big loop starting at Landing Rd, when I upgraded to full suspension it would take me close to an hour. I was shocked! And Schaffer from Seneca? WTF were you thinking? When I rode Seneca I was really disapointed with the trails. I rode there with friends that weren't that good so it was easy for them. I upgraded to better trails ASAP and never looked back. They aren't aweful but when you compare them to Schaffer, you'll never look back either... Schaffer is great! lots of trails loops, you can hit them one way for easy rides, the other for harder rides. And then link a couple of loops together and you are there all day. Lots of different challenges too. Not a lot of hikers there either, mostly bikers, some horses, again that was a while ago... Have you tried Gambril? It had a lot of down hill runs. I hiked it once and it seemed like lot of guys were loading up bikes in a pickup at the bottom and driving them to the top. The trails I hiked were unrideable up the mountain (hills?) Someday when I get back into peddling shape, we must ride! I did get back on one of my bikes this weekend for the first time in ??years...
