Yeah, I really only had the one crazy week, then - poof - knee problems. Probably should've taken some time off after the crash, but wanted to get ready for Rouge Roubaix. Oh well.

And remember, even if I log big miles, you typically climb more in one ride than I do in one week. If we had hills, my mileage would be way smaller (or I'd be way stronger).

exactly the point.  you are doing WAY more revolutions. if i ride the rails to trails for long distance, i can feel it in my knee.  The changing of pressure, angle etc. seems to help me.

This is a big thing in my country; https://11antsbikes.com/mantis-2/

The attention to detail is amazing, but so is the price.

A good friend of mine bought one of the first 11ants Mantis', it's a bike that has been displayed at a few bike shows in Europe, hence the 29" and 27,5"+ wheels.

Took it to a trail for it's first ride out in the cold last Saturday. The rear shock needs some adjustment and the different sized wheels aren't ideal, but it was good fun. The Rohloff hub in combination with the Gates Beltdrive is awesome, it works flawless, no matter how muddy it gets.

Very stable and the amount of grip is astonishing. A great experience. Would love to try it on my home trail with equal sized wheels one day.

$10K, man that's about 3 times more than I would ever spend on a bike.

Yep. I'll wait and buy it for $500 when the new "standard" wheels are 30.263" you know, because they're better..and no one will want a 27.5/29 mix so they'll dump it.

I wonder what the power loss of belt vs chain is.

Friction also

 annnnnd found the road biker.

Cool seat post setup. But really, worth $10k? I have such a hard time with that, but I've never ridden a 'money doesn't matter' bike. So maybe I don't know what I'm missing. I wanted to call it a top-end bike, but that just feels wrong.

So, I've obviously never dropped $10k on a bike. But I ride a Look 695SR with full Campy Super Record and carbon wheels, which was $10k+ new.

It's noticeable.

That being said, working at a shop, I rode a lot of road bikes. I can tell the difference between a $500 mtn bike and an S-Works mtn bike, but I don't think I could tell the difference between two high end ones. Unless you're immersed in a particular environment, those super expensive bikes won't seem much nicer than normally expensive one.
