Being I had hip replacement surgery last Monday, I'm going to call it for 2016.

I was was on pace to hit my goals,  but losing 5 weeks killed it.

Miles 3650ish. Wanted 4000

climbing 219,xxx'.  Not too bad Imo

137 rides

Did RAGBRAI, weather cancelled Seagull again

I hope to be back on bike by late January but Feb might be more realistic

thanks for asking Mike.

Its been a pretty interesting 3.5 weeks.

The day of the surgery i was walking around the floor. Next day i was going up steps and doing multi laps of floor.  Everyone was blown away.

I continued to have incredible progress for the next 2 weeks.  I then got released to drive and do a lot more stuff.   I think i went WAY over the top and had some extreme pains, weird things going on inside etc.  Went to see the dr and again and he just said i was doing too much.  the last couple days i've been really active again and all seems fine.  I can walk well with a cane.  Without the cane i can walk but i have a little waddle.

i was released to get back on my trainer and have ridden the last 3 days.  there feels to be a little slop in the hip.  Dr says thats totally normal.  Not much but i can feel it.  Almost feels like a BB is starting to go if you know what i mean.

Wife won't let me ride outside.  I have my big annual Vegas trip coming up so i think i'll be a good boy until then.

That just gave me the nails-on-chalkboard feeling.

So will the tendons or whatever holds the ball in the socket start to tighten over time and the slop will go away?

yeah, i have a lot of exercises that are meant to tighten things up and kind of grow around the Metal again etc.

if i'm laying on my stomach, bend at the knee, lift the ankle up, it can flop to the side a little. .  it will come but its weird.

Remind me the name of the Facebook group (thought it was FB maybe just a community site?) for selling / buying used bike equipment?  There were a couple of sites mentioned before specifically for serious riders.

http://www.pinkbike.com/buysell/ Reasonably popular, especially with the Downhill/Freeride crowd. Probably not what you're looking for, but it's one of the majors. In New England, I believe most used bike stuff is on the Northeast Bike Classifieds group. Once again, probably still not what you're looking for, but maybe it can lead you in the right direction? Pretty sure you travel out this way often too.
