Bought a Colnago Dream (58 cm) 2 days ago on a whim. We'll see if I keep it or not.

matt b
Did they close off roads for the ride ? Any issue with cars, riders crashing, etc... ? Nice event.
flyfishing3
for the most part the roads were closed, you would have an occasional local trying to do something and then get swarmed by bikes or 18 wheelers needing to make deliveries. there were a couple deaths though and 1 was car related. ( going the wrong direction on a road). saw lots of wrecks, every level of rider. Much more hilly than i ever envisioned but nothing like here. 18,000' of climbing over the week. i would do it again.

Cannot wait for the shaky footage and accidental selfies as you try to figure it out.
Dick Dastardly
Yeah, he will have mounted it backwards so it'll be a whole weekend of Mikes face while he rides a roadbike

Burn-E
Do you guys who track your rides on Strava use a dedicated GPS or do you track it with your phones? I started with my phone but the segments aren't matching up very well and I'm getting tired of having to email support to ask them to match my ride to a segment that I clearly did. Would I get better accuracy from a GPS? If so, is it Garmin the go to choice?
Fudge_Brownie
I use my phone. On rare occasion, it will report that it lost GPS signal. It mostly seems to match alright. Most of the matching problems I see are from poorly designed routes. Like overlapping segments, or weirdly positioned start/end points. flyfishing3
I run a garmin edge 1000 computer and then also run strava app on phone its amazing the difference between the 2 todays ride was hundreds of feet different and maybe close to a mile diff. I pick between the 2 and delete the other.
Burn-E
The one segment I ride that fairly measures my progress is a 9 mile loop through open and tree covered areas (paved trail not road) and it's always some different section of the trail that Strava fails to match. Sometimes 30% and sometimes up to 80% but only 1 out of 4 does it match.
