Cv Boot#2!

Ahh sh.it - Thats why my wheels are greasing up? I just thought I had cheap brake pads and it was brake dust.

How much to fix a CV boot? The dealer said I needed to get this done after last diagnostic.

My guy here will do it for $200 or so. The kit is cheap comes with a boot, grease and clamps I would do it myself but it is a nasty job lots of axle grease (CV Boot Grease)

Dealer=Devil they will charge you at least $400 and recommend replacing the axle. Unless you have mad "popping" noises coming from the front of your car forget the axle replacement.

well...at keast you gys only have 2....i have 4, so if I get lucky, I'll have to do one every 3 months!

definately a PITA, but it does not seem to bad to replace. I did one on my VW a few years back :)

You know what they say, if you can work on a vw you can work on anything!

Old school VW's are easy to work on. My air-cooled could be worked on by anyone with 1/2 a brain and a set of tools.

If only I could drop my engine and rebuild it in my 855 in just 5 hours....
