550
Hehe, well welcome to modding cars, because it rarely ever goes as planned. Drin850, I do see what you mean, but it seems as though t5terror is mad because he doesn't know how to hook it up in general :-\
s70turbo1998
It is not their fault that you do not have a clue of what you are doing. Just tap off of the vaccum tree, the tubing kit includes what you need to do so, if not, go to a auto parts supplier and find the 50 cents more of tubing that you need.S70s do not have vacuum trees
550
S70's(1998 atleast) do have vacuum trees, wtf are you talking about?
S60RDUDE
Hooking it up isn't the problem quality is. Actually I just got a call back from another rep at ISSPRO they took back their previous statement that this is for oil pressure only it actually should work well with the 1/8" line the tube is made of Nylon so it is durable but not heat resistant and will crack over time. Can the kit work? Short answer yes, it can work the way IPD sells it, but the kit will fail over time once the nylon gets hot enough it will crack. Thanks for all the feed back I dont mind some modifying to make things work I know it wont be plug and play but I just expected a little more from IPD since their stuff is usually so easy to install and use.S70s have a Vac Tree 100% sure on that! s70turbo1998
then i correct myself, 99-00 have no vacuum tree, which is why i thought it might be more complicated...since you have a vac tree, it should be pretty basic

I only have a N/A 99 S70 so I cannot speak for turbos in the later years but 98s def do. I will post pics and an installation guide with IPDs kit once I get it installed and working. I've had it on all my cars for around 4 years and still no cracks. Kit works fine, stop acting like a douche box, and complaining about quality when there are cars running 9 second 1/4 miles using nylon tubing for a whole season. Seems to work for them.I wouldn't put oil pressure in nylon if my life depended on it, for my oil pressure and temp gauges I converted them to AN.You don't have to convert the vacuum tree to use the nylon tubing, just get a small piece of vacuum line with a small internal diameter, so that it fits snug onto the vacuum tree, and snug when the nylon tubing is pushed into it. Just have like a 1 inch piece of vacuum line inline between the vacuum tree and the nylon tubing. I've had it this way forever and it works great, even when reading 20+ PSI. Also, I live in South Florida, hot as hell down here, no cracking.Curious... what are you planning on using instead of nylon tubing for your boost gauge? If you're really paranoid about the nylon tubing cracking, do what I did on my 850 and feed it through a vacuum line with the same ID as its OD.Ok so 99+ would be a lot worse. 550
Yeah i have had mine as well for 2 years, no cracking no issues. I'm only switching to a barb fitting and a larger diameter tube for the hell of it mostly haha

NGB
Wow.The way that the installation is described in the VS tutorial and the kit that IPD sends are not exactly the same. However, the only difference is that in the VS version you go get another vacuum cap to put a hole in.

The problem Terror is talking about is not about how to rout it from the engine nor the validity of the nylon tubing, the problem is that the kit that he was sent (as well as I) was missing the ferules that hold the hose in place. (I talked to IPD about it) There is no way that the kit he has will work so before any of you "douche box's" rag on him for posting a legitimate problem you should understand the circumstances with which the problem is based on. Find a kit with the "ferules" to make it work. The problem is based on the fact that he can't think outside the box.http://volvospeed.com/Mods/boost_gauge.htmThe kit works fine, just grab a piece of vacuum line, pop it on the vacuum tree, and quit your yapping. JHEIII874T5M
I'm not criticizing him for openly demeaning the quality found in the "IPD Kit", you could get the same thing on egauges.com for half as much. Just saying, don't be so quick to judge.

He could have just bought a T-split and then been done with it, but when he bought it I think he told them something like he wanted everything he would need. They didnt he has a right to state what happened, does he not? He didnt get a part, therefore it wouldnt work, he didnt know there was a part missing, therefore his logic is sound in that he would be upset. period.
