Cd Changer Help

I have a Volvo Factory 6 disc change mounted in my glove box in my S70. I was driving to work this morning on Disc 5 track two and suddenly it stopped playing made a grinding noise than just spun the CD. I ejected the cartridge and put back in but it just spun the cd's changing from disc 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6 (over a period of 20 min or so) When I got to work I sat in my parking lot and took all the CD's out and put in my laser lens cleaner CD (maxell) CD spun and played right away. Did a lens cleaning but had to run in my office. The 6 Cds in the changer before were all burned CDs that I have been listening to for months. Any ideas here if I get back out there and it does not work? Can a lens go bad to only play "authentic CDs?" Help!
