now what happened in the car and can it be avoided in the future?

after all, running with AMGs is not easy to do, if it was, wouldn't everyone do it?

I am quite sure that as a group, VS members and likely other Volvo boards, can agree that Evolve should get none of their business until such a time that there is a satisfactory resolution/explanation to Matt's situation. I know at times it is difficult to boycott companies when they have appealing goods or services but further patronage of Evolve only supports their position that no action is required on their part.

OR maybe we should wait for the whole story before you go declare jihad.

My indie raced Volvo's for quite some time in the Virgin Islands..he gives me pointers every know and then and stated the Volvo engine was not designed to handle over 300+hp no matter what precautions are done..This is coming from a man with experience dealing with these vehicles from P1800's to Bertones to 850 R's, etc...

I guess we're all right and wrong. But putting myself in that dude's shoes, I'll be one mad MoFO if that happend to me. On the other hand Evolve might be working on a solution, maybe not fast enough...

I test drove an S60R with Evolve mods, and not just the one with a bumper and rims. No, it actually had performance mods; it ran really good and handled better than my brother's M5.

Evolve just needs to resolve this for their sake, it only takes one bad for people to start second guessing a compay's trust and reliability.

My .02

But c'mon if anyone of us here were to would loose 35k, we would declare some nasyt jihad  on Evolve.

There is a thread on SS from Matt, he says Atspeed is rebuilding the car.

http://forums.swedespeed.com/zerothread?id=72566

He also itemizes the 35K into the car, which also includes the car payments and insurance:

Re: GOOD NEWS!! Atspeed is fixing my car!! (Sue Esponte) (racerx88)

My idie told me break an engine in like you drive it. If its a 8k rpm engine run it drom day 1 at 8k for at least 500 miles. Whats your point? Thats why their indie. Any real shop fired them for being whack jobs.

My point is in regards to tuning..and the trials and errors many face when they push their vehicles to its limits..he doenst do whack jobs..his shop is well received from Volvo owners..stuff..I wish I were in his shoes with the credentials he has backing his name..Just because you work for a corporate owned dealer doesn mean you cannot succeed to levels that cannot be achieved on a corporate level!

I agree with that. Was just saying. 5 years ago my car put 300 to the wheels and to this day has never had an issue. Properly built the engines will go 150k+ at the 450whp mark.
