Che'_Moderator
Chuck this is incorrect. This person's kit and my Economy kit are not the same in the slightest. They may use similar casings but the internals are far different. Same goes with the Apexcone kit. If you are interested in the facts PM me before you make statements like this about your vendors on this site - there is a reason my kits cost more. I have a US supplier. All of the product I buy is from within the US.Thats what I said about the philips kits 4 months ago when you started selling yours. Go open a couple ballasts. Account_Deleted_T5M
I offer 12000K, 17000K, and 30,000K if you are interested. I don't recommend these at all for helping you find your way at night.Applicable for H3 fogs though?

All of the product I buy is from within the US.well, well, some forums have rules for vendors that one can not just say that his product is better than the product from another without proving it, so i refrained. But it seems that you already broke the rule. Fine. Can you just tell me why your ballast is better than mine? Can't you show it? "there is a reason my kits cost more" what is it? "but the internals are far different" Let 's go open one and compare OK, i am also interested in knowing why your ballast is better than mine. Does your US supplier buy from some factory in China, or manufacture the kits themselves?time will tell everything. I offer 14 month warranty, and you provide one year. Account_Deleted_T5M
Personally i think that both parties here need to back off, and not to be rude chuck but i don't think you should have posted what you did. Sure it may be true or not, but both parties here are trying to sell a product, and i sense that no good can come out of it. Sure the price of MyDepots one is cheaper, and thus seems more attractive to buyers, but when you're buying from John you know he's a standup guy and will stand by his product. Plus time WILL tell, if bulbs/ballasts start collapsing around the buyers ears, then we will have a winner My .01 cent

I had to argue with John a few months ago about why I use philips kits over his. My reasons were time, ballast constructions, and ability to get them replaced quickly and easily without a lot of down time or shipping and reputation. The exact same points he is bring up now. In the earlier posts about philips vs his kits unlike him I even said they were probably the same as their are only a few people at the manufactures level. John is hands down one of the most helpful members here and I am sure he does not mind answering questions.
Account_Deleted_T5M
Eh, i wasn't upset at all, just putting forth my opinion. I beg to differ that these kits would be of the same quality. I think you would agree with me that you "get what you pay for" now possibly these will last just as long as any other kit, but from personal experience if you do it cheap, expect to replace it alot sooner

If I go direct and save a markup does quality go down? I agree yo get what you pay for if your talking end retailers. Even there you have exceptions. But whatever. I will say it again. All three kits, philips, xtec, and whatever these are should last several years no problem. I still have an orginal Gen I kit installed from 1998. Still on the original bulbs even

Are they all made in China?
leurven
I'm not going to start or continue an arguement. MyDepot is selling an HID kit that falls into a particular price bracket. I am selling kits that fall into another price bracket. The kits I sell are made in China and Taiwan as are almost all HID kits. I am not trying to deter anyone from buying MyDepot's kits. I just was not happy with Chuck making statements in this topic about the quality of each kit and I wanted to just make clear that my kits are not the same as the MyDepot's kits. As you guys have mentioned it is down to time and experience.
