Cicada
coming home one night about 2 weeks ago, amustang GT [older bodystyle, not the new style] flys by me then slows down...it's perfect "R" weather out [about 35 degrees] so i get next to him and start pacing....we do the back and forth thing just teasing eachother, then i drop it down into 4th and start pacing again..we're at about 60-65mph.he takes off, so he gets AT LEAST a 1/2 car lead before i chase....he pulls out by about a 1.5 cars, but by the time I shift it into 5th i close the gap QUICK and pull past him about 2 car lengths by about 110-115mph.we start pacing again and i let him get about a car lead this time [i pace him about a car length behind] he tries to take off, i chase, close the gap, and same results. My car is completely stock minus intake and exhaust, and his at the very least had the same [intake/exhaust].Can't wait til I get my iPD softloader installed and buy my DP should make for an even better time shaming people who underestimate :)

Denovae
Congrats man, mustangs definitely are slower at higher speeds. especially the fox bodies. great drag cars but unless they are built or turbo'd then they aren't so hot at highway runs. I'll get beaten off the line to the 1/8th by my friends modified 5.0 then pass him for about 2-3cars by the 1/4th
turbor850
sweet, I raced a Mustang GT 03 version with every bolt on, i had him by about 3 cars from 50-110 in my Rweird cause im stock minus the VMS motor, Level 10 Trans, EPL Tuning, and Hahn 20G
JAGMAN
I don't think 4th gear at 60=65mph is the answer. You need to be in 3rd! Try that and you should be able to walk all over that vintage Mustang GT, from nearly any speed.
