send a check of lets say 200$ if the fine was 195$ and they send a check of 5$ back ..

just trow it away and you keep your point on you drivers liscense but 200$ less richer

that doesnt work

contact the ticket office and see what they say. the folks here in AR are nice and try to help you out. Good luck. I always try to pay the ticket before hand if they will keep the ticket off of my driving record.

do that or talk with the officer before hand majority of the time they will knock down on what you got ,

NEVER JUST PAY THE TICKET that cost you even more in the long run with your insurance going up and chance of losing your liscence also

I would know I have lost mine 3 times for speeding and wreckless driving lol

Funny. I thought we had speedometers in these cars? Beyond that, "I am not used to the car so I decided to speed". Derrrrrrrrr

If you are not used to a vehicle you do not speed with it. :monkey::monkey::monkey:

i can somewhat understand his point, not totally sure if he is making the same reference im is thinking of. Basically when i drive crap cars for a week at 120kmh feels like the car is about to fall apart and feels real loose and disconnected in the corners and i dont really go over the speed limit at all. But say when i drive a nice car the difference between 100 and 120 isnt noticable, sometimes i dont realize when i get off the highway im actually going faster than i think... going from 120-160kmh to a 40km zone i seem to think im doing 40-50kmh when really im doing low 60's.

Personally i wouldnt really have a problem with getting nailed for speeding if it was just a ticket i was paying, but its the insurance thats the killer. Some states dont report out of state drivers to there insurance companies (least a number of years ago they didnt). This is why the tickets are a much higher amount of money in those states, were as where i live i can get nailed and automatically goto court and they will ask me if ill take a reduced amount of like 60 bucks. 60 bucks and i wouldnt goto court, but when it means i pay 2grand more a year for that fucking ticket im going to court. When i drive down to florida i carry about 500-600us cash incase of speeding ticket, b/c some places require you to goto the police station and pay on the spot for out of state drivers, and on a friday night at 11pm, i dont feel like waiting the weekend or trying to pull out a grand from an atm.

edited part:changed the grand amount from 2000grand to 2grand, typo

It was a state trooper. In every state I know of they are allowed to pace you.

They are allowed to do that from a known distance and angle from the road though, I don't think it's just a stand anywhere at any distance and angle to the oncoming traffic and make up a number.

Or just write you a warning :)

Just pay the ticket. Now you will be more aware of the speed you drive when it hits your bank account and then your insurance goes up for the next 3 years.

You can ask for a deferred adjucation (SP?). (Probation given on request from a defendant.) What that entails is you ask to be placed on probation for a given amount of time. That way you can keep the point off your record and if you do not commint any offenses with in that time they will drop the ticket. They do this in Texas. Usually 30 to 60 days.

You can subpoena the radar guns calibration records and the amount of tickes issued in that cops jurisdiction. There is a time limit on how long the county/city has to get you this information, if they miss the statute of limitation they will have to dismiss the ticket. There is a limit to how many tickets cops can write or risk getting nailed for speed trap violations. This I believe is countrywide. Also, the Supreme Court decided that police cars needed to be easily identified as such to be able to pull some one over for infractions or moving violations. 1996. I just wish I had the information on hand to provide for proof.

Hire an atty and they will get your ticket dismissed, just because the calibration on the gun was not performed. You may have to file SR22 because you couldn't prove insurance. (You can get insurance cheap and put the info on the back of the ticket when you send it in too)

I was on the highway-60MPH zone, I was going about 66, wnt down a hill, then an unmarked state trooper pulls me over. I got a ticket for 71 in 60. His radar has never been calibrated, would I have any way of fighting for myself? I got the car less than a week ago and I'm not accostomed to the new spped.

Wish I ever got a ticket for only 9 over, what the hell are you worried about! My last one was 64 in a 45, just pay it and be done with it.

Uh, sorry about my math there, still what's the big deal, your time is worth more than that will cost, and trust me traffic court will completely ruin any respect you might have had for the judicial system and for most of the people on the planet.
