Sounds like you got it covered(all new rods and pistons). I would find it hard to believe the conditions that existed to create detonation were present in only one cylinder. Therefore, all rods and pistons are suspect. Much as is driver.

other rods were/are fine, however, cracked ring lands on 3 out of 5 pistons!

aye grasshoppa', but what metal of earth feel, can not always be seen. seek the truth in the crystals, one must.

fatigue does not necessarily mean bend. It's like crashing a carbon fiber bike or losing your girlfriend on a bender one night only to find her when you wake up. It may look ok, but it still may be compromised.

i realize this, that's why, sans crank, the rotating assy is new. ;) Cyl walls were out of round by 2 mils, stepped up to OS1. Crank Journals are/were in great shape. Just picked everything up, machinist asked how many miles were on the car and he was impressed because of how well everything mic'd out and looked for the mileage it had.

No, I'm not building a 500 hp car, no need for it.

oh i see....i thought it was just to even out oil pressure....i figured if that's the case, then it may be good for even a 300hp car....being that the newer 300hp cars Volvo makes has them from the factory.

just more money to throw at mod that isn't going to net me anything IMO. Waste of money.
