Black Betty
reason for this poll is i remember my dad telling me he used to use regular in the 850 n/a but after a short while he had to pay a lot in engine repairs so you used the midgrade like the owners manual said toSo since i just got my 850R i want to know if i should keep using midgrade becasue im also a student and money is kinda tight especially since i gotta buy new tires to pass inspection so just vote and then chime in to why you use what you use (and what your driving)

Patrickw
definately 92 or better! but not 110DONT run cam2 racing gas, it will clog your cat and 02 sensors which costs a good amount to fix
97Rwagon
89 Im too broke to use 93.
HtownTurboBrick
if you got an 850R just sack up n use the 93. its turbo...mind as well treat it right. honestly if you can't afford the .10-.15 difference between 89 and 93 per gallon then maybe you need to be looking at cutting other things from your budget.10-17 gallons is 1.00-2.55 more, im pretty sure you can dig that out of a couch somewhere. matt b
Anything less than premium on a turbo engine isn't very smart.
skld
I used to run 87 on my bone stock '87 744ti with no problems. I run 93 in my 91 744ti. That is what the previous owner always ran, so I figure, why screw up a good thing, plus my 91 isn't stock. The $2 difference is kinda like insurance for my pedal mashing fun. Zappo
definately 92 or better! but not 110DONT run cam2 racing gas, it will clog your cat and 02 sensors which costs a good amount to fix Isn't 110 LEADED fuel? Of course you are going to destroy stuff.
Zappo
89 Im too broke to use 93.Used to run 87 in my spider, but the carbon deposits built up quickly. I only run premium in it even though it isn't required. Since I have owned my Volvo, it has had nothing but premium. Yeah, it costs more, but it keeps the engine cleaner and your mileage goes up. This will partially compensate for the higher cost. Also, you will get more ping with the lower octanes, so the ECU will cut back on your power to compensate. fromtheshadows
If you care about performance use premium. Our Cali crap gas is 91 so theres no place in this poll for us (and it still costs more than everywhere else ), and on a hot day with 17 psi I could still feel timing pull. Nothing a little tuolene won't fix but that gets expensive too.

T-5BattleWagon
93 premium. The octane prolongs the burn, and prevents detonation. turbo=premium, period.
