Because of that, we wasted two days thinking it was other stuff because it really did sound like a bad lifter. I also drove it for at least 90 miles after that and nothing changed in the noise. Bent rods usually don't make 10 miles at freeway speeds. I guess I just got lucky because it doesn't appear to have damaged anything else. No metal in the oil, no marks on the crank, etc.yea.. i bent a rod in my moms car but it was really minor. i was racing it and i guess there wasnt alot of oil in it. course she never checks her oil and i didnt think to check it myself. but started to hear a funny noise and then i check the dip stick and it was dry! added some oil drove it home and told her she should take it in. and $4k later she had rebuilded motor its strong as ever now though I love your car Pat. <3i know me too... orange is the best!
