caliwagon
Greg, does your prototype modify the shifter itself, or the cable/mechanisms? I only ask because I know that many short-shifter kits (like for the old MkII GTI's) are actually mods to the "levers" of the cables. That might be one way to go. I would definitely like to avoid cutting off the knob too.
ViperVette
The only way to get that bloody thing off is to cut it. It really isn't a good nob anyway, your better off getting a decent one if your going to be modifying the throw.Greg, you serious? I'd def. be down for one, everytime I drive I wish my throw was more like that of the new Rs trans. Hows the development going? Ballpark numbers or date estimate time yet? gdizzle
The kit will require the use of a drill and possibly a pop rivet gun. Everyone ok w/ that?! If everyone is ok w/ this, I'll work on getting these out w/ in the next few months. I've got over a year of testing done on mine w/ no issues. Love it. The kit will also include brass shifter bushings for the shift cables. I'll have to work up a price too.

I could be wrong, it could be someone else, and you could think I'm nuts.

No synchros in reverse is probably the cause.

ViperVette
Pop-rivet gun? If I can find someone who has one and can help me install it and is relativly competent then yes. I would be in.Side note, I'll buy that person a 30-rack to help me out.
