Ron Paul 2008

Recommended Posts

Hey Jena, Ron was on the Daily Show last night, the clip is already on Youtube. Here is the link:

http://youtube.com/watch?v=sUf_CawuPag

I got pissed off in this thread because it's unfair when people like Grant come in here and just make ASSUMPTIONS before doing any sort of research whatsoever. If you look at Ron's history, his voting record is the most clear cut in all of Congress. His message has stayed consistent since he entered politics: follow the Constitution. I agree with his assessment of himself as being the most Conservative member of the people running for office. The difference between him and the others is he is not a true Republican. He is a true Conservative.

It's going to be tough for him to get the nomination nowadays though because the Neo-conservatives control the party now. But Ron has a huge following online amongst young people and it's going to be interesting I think if Ron keeps stirring the pot and getting attention. Another GOP debate is tonight and I hope Ron makes another impact.

Hope this helps, Jena.

Matt

It's funny that you say you get pissed off that people like me make assuptions, yet you just did the same thing about me, sooo........kinda a double standard don't ya think.

Anyway, I watched 4 videos on youtube wih him in them, and to say the least I was not impressed, HOWEVER.............I think fron watching these four videos I would rather have him as president then our current president, but I would not vote for him at this point.

Once again he is limited to a 1/3 of speaking time compared to a 1st tier candidate...the minute he tries to dissect a question his time gets cut short..just let the man speak--Gulianni ran his mouth---getting up (looking creepy as monkey)--slithering his way to the stage---you can sense the evil drooling out of the lisp infecting his speach...monkey GULIANNI and the police-state he created

I ascertain Dr. Paul enjoys much ipso facto support from wiley liberals posing as Republican voters. But then, what would one expect from a political populous with a mental disorder?

That's it, that's all you have to say.....................lame :(

I saw a little debate on youtube with RP and Rudolph Giuliani, it was absolutely rediculous. Ron Paul made some excellent points (quite amazing for a politician) only for them to be laughed away by Giuliani as rubbish with the crowd on his side. The fact that RP was actually right, and if Giuliani of all people had read the 9/11 report he'd have known, -yet nobody cared- showed how silly American politics are.

It doesnt matter what politicians say because the majority doesnt have a clue about facts. They go by who looks more believable or whatever regardless of the crap coming out of their mouth.

Ron Paul does have views that are way "out there" on some topics, but in general he seems to have an unheard of amount of common sense and insight in world politics. So he doesnt stand a chance.

Ron Paul is not a conservative, he is a libertarian. This is a conservative.

You are incorrect. Ron Paul is Conservative in the most truest sense. Conservatism was and is based on Libertarianism, Ronald Reagan said this himself.

The difference between Fred Thompson and Ron Paul is that Thompson is a REPUBLICAN but Paul is a CONSERVATIVE. There is a difference nowadays unfortunately.

Your fullashit and don't know whatdahell your talking about. Thats like saying when Ronald Reagan said "General Secretary Gorbachev, if you seek peace, if you seek prosperity for the Soviet Union and Eastern Europe, if you seek liberalization: Come here to this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, open this gate! Mr. Gorbachev, tear down this wall" Reagan was a liberal???

I can tell that you are not a Republican, nor are you a Conservative or even a Libertarian. Go back to your Hillary camp and tell her that this didn't fool anyone and they need to come up with something better.

That's a quality joke! no love. :(

I'm sorry.

I just didn't understand it.

Type another, and I promise to laugh and give love.

OR... we can skip the joke and go straight to the love.

WTF are you on? I can reassure that I am definitely NOT a liberal (not that it would matter anyways). Here is the quote from Reagan in 1975 from Reason magazine:

"If you analyze it I believe the very heart and soul of conservatism is libertarianism. I think conservatism is really a misnomer just as liberalism is a misnomer for the liberals–if we were back in the days of the Revolution, so-called conservatives today would be the Liberals and the liberals would be the Tories. The basis of conservatism is a desire for less government interference or less centralized authority or more individual freedom and this is a pretty general description also of what libertarianism is.

Now, I can’t say that I will agree with all the things that the present group who call themselves Libertarians in the sense of a party say, because I think that like in any political movement there are shades, and there are libertarians who are almost over at the point of wanting no government at all or anarchy. I believe there are legitimate government functions. There is a legitimate need in an orderly society for some government to maintain freedom or we will have tyranny by individuals. The strongest man on the block will run the neighborhood. We have government to insure that we don’t each one of us have to carry a club to defend ourselves. But again, I stand on my statement that I think that libertarianism and conservatism are travelling the same path."

The two major issues that could be construed as Conservativism today by most of the current Republicans in office is their fighting of gun control and their favor of traditional (religious) values.
