As much as I like other Volvo models, there would be no Volvo as we know it now if not for the 240, I'd bet the only place you'd see the name Volvo would be at a truck stop. I can't say an 850 is desirable, because it's FWD. Call me old fashioned, but that's not something I look for in a car that's supposed to be fun to drive. If Volvo had turboed the 960 from the factory, it would most likely be one of the most popular Volvos of all time. It's got all the other pieces of the performance puzzle. As it stands, I think the S60R is the right direction for taking on BMW and Audi, and is obviously the most advanced car Volvo has come up with. It just needs more power.
