After thinking about it, I decided that it was the hinge that needed attension and not the brackets on the A frame as the other posters recommended. I then thought I'll look into it further when I have the time and just live with it for now. Then this post came along. This is an answer to prayer...I thank you and my wife who has been complaining non stop thanks you too. Your work here is greatly appreciated. My point was that this is not a "quality" part regardless of whether it is "OEM" or not or whether it lasted 8 years or 11 years. It is made of cheap pot-metal. Why do you think they crack where they do? Also, the part is actually called a "door check" not a door hinge. If your hinge broke the only clunking sound it would be making is the one as the door hits the floor. It was only $47 at the dealership not $62.
