matt b
BMW would make my day, Renault a little less, but I could rely on patriotic pride to accept that move. Hyunday: I'd leave a note to let people know where to find my body.

Volvoson
If Hyundai buys Volvo, why will anybody care? We will still own the Pre-Ford Volvo's anyways, let alone Pre-Hyundai...swedespeed.com will request a domain change to swede-economy.com

Che'_Moderator
Best case would be Renault or Hyundai. Worst case would be GM
javadoc
I heard that GM was buying Volvo. That way they can rebadge an S60 as a new Pontiac/Buick/Chevy... and give Volvos crappy interiors. Then they'll put the Ecotech engines in Volvos, and the new XC90 will be a Chevy Blazer with new badges. And I bet some of you think that I'm kidding! That would be sick! Not to mention RWD Volvos would be reborn.I heard that GM was buying Volvo. That way they can rebadge an S60 as a new Pontiac/Buick/Chevy... and give Volvos crappy interiors. pro_star
So not only can I say I drive a pre-ford, I can say I drive a pre-whoever buys out volvo.Honestly though, I will run screaming if Hyundai or however you spell em buys.or gm. Volvos across the world will have peeling paint! and what once was known as being a very reliable car....well...I somehow doubt you'd see a hyundai OR GM volvo with as many clicks on it as mine. fasts60r
Hey guys, it's not speculation anymore...http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/busi...icle2080527.eceWhat is still specualtion is who. I have mixed feelings about BMW and Renault both, simply because I am not really a fan of Nissan. In BMWs case I do not see at all how Volvo would fit under their corporate umbrella. BMWs compete with Volvo (at least in theory) and it just wouldn't shake down well I don't think. I am not really a fan of the Hyundai notion either, simply because it's Hyundai. I know they are improving by leaps and bounds all the time it seems, but still.Volvo Penta...that would be cool.
