Yeah thats it, thanks Zaitz! I am not into the fake shit, really did not use PS in my class except to adjust contrast a boit. I am guessing that some of the pics displayed on here make use of that technique?

Do you mean in this thread? I am sure some do. The over-done ones will have a funky look to them. Some people like the effect and that's cool, I just don't. Usually along the lines of this:

A really well done HDR you wouldn't be able to tell it's done. The two links I posted a few minutes ago show how to do it very well without going over the top. Some people like to differentiate between exposure blends and HDR because exposure blends typically look quite a bit more natural. In either case though you are increasing the dynamic range beyond what a single exposure could capture.

You're on bimmerforums too? Looks pretty good. Bird is smack in the center though.

I am, yeah. Almost bought an E30 a couple of years ago. Haven't commented yet, but your dog shots always have nice color. If you post-pro, what do you do? As far as my shot goes, I thought it would be ok to settle for the average shot instead of get closer, scare the bird away and have no shot

Thank you. I always use Photoshop. For the recent ones I started with normal sharpening, contrast, levels, and curves adjustments that all my photos go through. I then used Nik Silver efex to do a black and white conversion with a blue tone and yellow paper tone. Then decreased the opacity of that layer to around 50%. Merged layers with the color layer and increased the saturation a bit.

There's hundreds of baby pictures, thanks to my wife... but I don't think everyone would like to see everyone, so just shared some of my favorites. If you can see any difference in quality, it's because pictures I took were with a Rebel and pictures Lesa (owner of the company above) uses a D3X.

So, what do you think?

Thanks

Honest answer or typical photo forum answer?

Sure, honest answer or criticism... won't hurt my feelings.

My wife employed the lady after we met (I work on her husbands three Harleys at my house), and wanted to do some pictures with our new baby.

Bottom line: My wife's happy with the pictures, so that makes me happy with the pictures. :pizza:

But, besides that, what do you think?
