Soo, if anyone wants to give me a late bday present a d7000+ 105mm f2.8 Micro would be an awesome surprise

I have both, and as you know, both are awesome. The D7000 + the MBD-11 grip makes it 1k times better feeling in your hands, I have big hands and it helped tremendously. I've been nothing short of amazed w/ the D7000, truly an awesome camera.

Awesome :D

Went to shoot some bikers few weeks ago.. I was lasy and have't touched the pics since then.. not even sorting...

Was fun, later I'll upload some more.

But, the best part.. we found out how to use a canon 400d + 70-200 f4L

Right on my birthday last month a local photoshop held a Nikon open day. It was awesome, we could actually try out most of the lenses and bodies.. D3x + 300mm f2.8 felt pretty damn heavy.. and also expensive :D

Played around a bit with the D7000, I like, awesome body. I would totally buy it.. altough the d300s felt better in my hands. That was a really fun day.

Nice! D3x would be boss. I'm interested to see where Nikon goes next. Hopefully there aren't long delays but I guess it's expected.

Got lucky with some storm clouds:

Zach, that is excellent. I'm assuming it's digital?

Yeah. The b&w film from that day, so far, doesn't look that great. I am hoping some of the color film turns out well but I am sure I missed the best moments with it. The composition was the same for all of them too, which sucks but I wanted to make sure I got it right.

It looked like this when I got there:

The scene developed over the next hour. Never was the light perfect for one shot, in my opinion. I masked in these images:

Shot from our room in the Oriental hotel, Bangkok. Cost me a bit of sleep because the lightning bolts were few and far between and when they did occur my shutter was usually closed

Had to use a frikking Tamron 17-35 a friend gave me because the day before a waitress at breakfast dropped my bag and that didn't do my 16-35 any good (had been expecting this to happen for some time though..worst built L lens)

Ouchies! Is the 16-35 known for being poorly built? The Tamron 17-35 is not a bad lens for the price (they can be had for $300 these days) and is my usual walk-around lens.

You could call it a functional fracture. That part is "supposed" to break off protecting the lens itself when it gets dropped. Unfortunately the 4 plastic tabs that hold it on are much too weak, you can find dozens of 16-35's broken this way some did it even when being fitted to a body. It is repairable, just a lot of hassle and 250-300 bucks in Europe to get it done. It's always the 16-35 II, the first version doesn't have this issue.

I found the 17-35 to have quite a lot of barrel distortion at the wide end compared to the canon. I think it's been replaced with a newer model 17-50 some time ago, but for 250$ it's definitely not a bad lens, it would fare better on a crop body I'm sure.

I like the color ones better.. could you show the unedited version of this: My link

jealous

Thanks. It's a terrific combo. The AF-I lens is quite cheap but can't be fixed if the AF breaks. I can get the raw file up later.

I like the color.

I finally got two rolls of 120 and a roll of 135 developed of the new Kodak Portra 400. Very pleased w/ the results!
