gdizzle
Assuming remote strobe? Sb80 on an umbrella adapter inside umbrella, then an Elinchrom Ranger Quadra with 7" parabolic reflector and a 30* grid behind the couple.

ErikS
Yeah, awesome Greg. Did you come up with it on the fly, or was that planned? Annual trip to Kauai. gdizzle
On the fly. During the reception, I try to brainstorm quick portaits where I can pull the couple away for a short amount of time (5-10 min tops). Rain moved in and I had to think of something. Had to root around my gear to find the black cover for the 60" umbrella, but luckily I found one. I had a 30" umbrella in my stand bag w/ the cover, but it wouldn't have worked as well. Shot the first image with just the umbrella and built from there adding the back light and adjusting the position of the umbrella. Took about 5 minutes to get the shot. If you're ever shooting in the rain, rain drops/water always looks best back lit.
Mesoam
do you have a shot that wasn't lit from the back and just from the umbrella I'm curious to see the difference

gdizzle
wow what a difference, even more so than i was expecting Light hits those rain drops and sends it everywhere. If I didn't have that back light gridded, it would have been a mess.
