i thought the bubbles were lens flare

Yeah, the blown out background doesn't help them.. It was taken at 5pm just a few feet from the Potomac River, so at wide open, the river became a huge reflector and just went white in the full sun. Not much you can do about that, but the most important part, the child, is properly exposed. I probably could have changed my EV setting and pulled a little detail in, but I didn't.

Yeah figured that. Their prices are very good. Just found this place that also has great prices:

I'd stick to Lensrental honestly, they really are that great. I've left filters on rented lenses several times and they always call me to verify it's mine then pay for the overnight shipping back to me.

Yeah their prices are better than my local place. Here is a huge review of a few online places if anyone is interested:

You should try BorrowLenses.com. They are local, so I have used them before, but their prices are exceptional. Service is really good, too.

You get a 10 day rental for slightly less than a 7 day rental at Lensrental (for some things).

I really have had 0 issues w/ Lensrental, so I have no reason to look elsewhere. I'm a firm believer in supporting good businesses, plus, they're a days shipping from me which helps. My 105 F2DC lens from them was supposed to arrive today, but UPS lost the package, so they refunded my money on the spot.

Had another commercial gig tonight, model shoot for an ad campaign on the seamless white. The ripple in the shadow is from the overlap of the tile board, I really should crop it out..

Time to buy another roll of seamless, notice the texture in the background..

Looks good, nice soft lighting. Bummer about the 105. Are they sending another?

No, the gig was yesterday.

The lighting was a White Lightning X3200 w/ a large PCB octobox mounted to it on the subject and camera right, the background was lit with 2 flagged AB800's.

Hi! Updates :)

Finally replaced the crappy kit lens on my d40 with a 18-105 Vr. It isn't pro stuff but for that price (~$270) this lens is pretty awesome. Vr works like charm, I love it.

One thing I noticed with the new lens: noise is non-existent @ iso400 and can barley seen @ 800 even in not so well lit places. With the kit lens the max I used in darker places was 400 and there was plenty of noise  I didn't know that the front lens size affects noise levels this much.. 52mm compared to 67mm is a differnce!

I wish the 55-200 Vr would share the same specs..

I'll be shooting at the King Of Europe Drift series from wendsday till saturday. I'm a bit worried bc of the short focal distance but the track is going to be a small.. We'll see.

And I became a photographer of a online magazine B) carsandgirls.hu if You are interested but it is all hungarian, sorry.

I love the 18-105, picked one up for my D70 earlier this spring. $270 American or Euro? I paid around $350 Canadian for mine new in packaging but Canada is known to pay more for stuff  . Congrats on the purchase and the ezine job, enjoy the lens!
