freeskier8585
My sweet video that i madeMy car makes this sweet sound, i cant seem to pin down where the sound is coming from. Its sharp and metallic and you can kinda see from the video that when the car shifts from park to drive or reverse there is a loud clang/ snap. All the mounts seem legit (2/3 are new) and there is nothing visably wrong from the outside. What could cause this?

TM850R
Well what is moving. The axle is moving. Also the wheel bearing just slightly when the axle moves. Could be the axle?
gdizzle
Try removing the abs sensor and see if the sound goes away. Personally sounds like something w/ the trans.
MrWinkey
Tighten your outter axle nut....... Or possibly backing plate noise
freeskier8585
how the heck would the outer axel nut come loose. What is a backing plate? It does sound tranny related, but what would cause a tranny to do that.
AlvinL
how the heck would the outer axel nut come loose. What is a backing plate? It does sound tranny related, but what would cause a tranny to do that. When it goes from forward to reverse, we can see the axle move but can you see the rotor/hub move? If the rotor and hub is not moving, then I concur with Mr Winkey that the axle nut is not tight. But, can't say if the sound is from the splines.Backing plate is the metal shield on the inboard side of the brake rotor.
Mike_P
Wonder is some of the splines are stripped out? I have not had this happen, but have seen some posts on here where someone disassembles the axle/hub and finds missing splines.
