javadoc
If he died because he was jeapordizing the unit, the gov't isn't going to come out and admit that. How would that look to the public, which isn't as a whole behind their efforts? It's sad, but I imagine this isn't an isolated case, but it's not like the grassy knoll. Yellow95
If you were Pats mom. Would you like to hear he died a hero or that he had a fued with another soldier and that soldier capped his ass. Does knowing the truth about his death some how dull the pain? I think if my boy was dead I would love to thing he died a hero.Gary

Yellow95
No, I am all for prosecution, and I believe that it should be treated as a war crime and the death penalty should be dealt. I am against making it into an Anti-Bush media circus though.Gary
javadoc
Well I'm sure that GW was standing there in a navy blue bathrobe with a White House insginia embroidered into it, with the red phone his his hand, saying, "bust a cap in his ass." I don't support the Bush administration on a lot of issues, but saying that some soldier offing another is the administration's fault is ludicrous. heck, maybe he slept with the other guy's wife, or was a huge homophobe, or cheated in a card game and whoever blasted him went postal. If the guy was jeapordizing the lives of the other soldiers and someone killed him to preserve the rest of the squad/mission, I think it's an unfortunate thing that happened, though it's still wrong that it happened... if it was murder. TM850R
Just because this guy played football the media makes a huge deal about it. What about the hundreds of other men and women who died due to friendly fire? What about the thousands of others who died? He died in war, war is not a pretty thing. The media just needs to get over it.

Yellow95
I think after the towers fell we should have sent 2 things over there. 1 nuclear missile for Iraq and 1 for Afganistan. Or better yet, just stand back and tell the Israeli's they have our permission to glass the desert over. I am still a bitter American. I dont want to hear about collateral damages either. What part of the US military were the people in that died on the jets or in the towers? My dad spent 30 years in the military, and I still have a shirt that proudly says USA: Fuck with the best and die like the rest.Gary

They say history repeats itself. After this we are going to go into another post WWI containment policy and secure our borders 100% to outside influx and sit back and watch the world go to shit. And then when it finally gets so out of control that North Korea/Unorthodox warfare reaches our borders and we will have to do something. Either way at some point we have to make a choice as to how much shit we are going to take for trying to support the world.
