S60RDUDE Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 So my radiator is cracked around the cap area and leaks under pressure tests. I need to replace it my mechanic wants to put in an OEM what do you guys think?
ovlov780t Posted August 3, 2007 Report Posted August 3, 2007 No, ur fine with aftermarket. i did mine a few weeks ago, and its been hotter than africa in cali for the past few weeks. Havnt had one issue with an aftermarket one.

kurtdaniel Posted August 8, 2007 Report Posted August 8, 2007 Many OEM radiators are aluminum, but they are not suitable for racing applications. This is due to the fact that the tanks are not welded onto the core, and the pressures spikes that can develop in racing radiators can blow the tanks of an OEM radiator. The issue outweighs any of the potential upsides to using an OEM radiator versus a fabricated racing radiator..ur fine with aftermarket volvo radiator..
