Auburn T5
Went to the track tonight with all the turbobrick guys. The black plumbing hose that's attached to the throttle body refuses to hold on. The heat from the engine just makes it too soft and the clamps can't squeeze it tight enough. Had a lot of volvospeeders scratching their heads. Not even hair spray worked hahah.During the runs, as soon as I hit 3rd, the pressure blows it off. Best I could muster was a 15.00 @ 91 mph. It stayed all the way attached for that 1 run but wouldn't hold boost past 7 psi. It'd hit 10 right after the shift and then quickly fall to 6~7 psi and sort of stay there until the next shift or until it blew the hose off.Oh well. Hopefully that reducer will hurry the crap up and get here.Oh stock intercooler is still attached. I haven't figured out how to get it off yet... or the top piece of plastic over the intercooler to remove the stock intercooler hose hahaha. If you guys think the zip ties are bad, you should see some of these older volvos that the turbobrick guys are sporting. Hilarious but awesome none the less. Lots of 16 second monsters. One of em ran a 15.99 in his friends wagon and you'd have think he ran a 10 flat based on all the guy's reactions at the staging area. 98Silver70
don't mean to be a complete tard but with an fmic like this you are not using the stock intercooler at all correct? also how is a small one like that better than the stock one? is it because its aluminum? sorry for the noobness

loudvolvo
r u going to leave it held on with zipties or attach it some other way?? also to remove the black plastic cover above ur intercooler hose i think there is a bolt on each side of it you kinda have to look toward the front of the car to see it

Its better because it actually gets air and is not sandwiched in with the radiator. Flow should also be better, correct?
Auburn T5
Air flow in the new intercooler is far superior to the stock intercooler. Bar and plate, larger inlet and outlet, 3" deep vs.. whatever the factory intercooler is... and not behind the radiator.I got all the hoses clamped down tight, still waiting for that final reducer piece for the throttle body but it's holding a consistent 12 psi now. grnmachine02
why does everyone seem to change the routing of the piping when installing a front mount? i left thr routing the same (hotside is drivers side, and cold saide is passanger side) just curious

I figured I'd just route them the same way he did becuase A) I knew it had been done so it would work, B ) I knew I would have all the piping I needed and C) RIP piping looks cool.
