saying lets just drop the race barrier is easier said then done. it never will be dropped...not until people can let go of stupid predjudices which just won't happen. how many of you guys remember the duke lacrosse team case? ill put money the majority of you do. why did that have daily national coverage and this dosen't? you can't even do a simple google and get a good result on jena 6, you gotta dig and thats bull stuff. the race barrier is alive and well whether we admit it or not.

For starters, if we switch the current situation around and have 6 white kids have this happen to, nothing would be talked about. According to the media, if any crime whatsoever happens to a black person, its a "Hate Crime." If this happens to a white, its simply a "crime." Tell me, isn't any act that does damage to another individual based off some kind of hate? In sense this makes anything hateful or cruel, a "Hate Crime."

who's trying to get attention? a buncha juvi's who got into a school yard fight and got put up on adult attempted murder charges? or 6 black kids who were arrested a year ago and have had no media coverage until now. they're in jail, who's getting the attention? this is support for kids who are being unjustly dealt and had no voice. i reiterate my case and point with the duke lacrosse team case...they had media coverage every day from begining till end. and then they demanded formal apologies from everyone because "their lives were ruined" these kids will never ever get that from anybody. and thats the society we live in.

That whole noose thing is fucked up. Those kids should have been expelled. I dont care if it was a joke. There is a line where a joke is no longer funny, three nooses hanging from a tree is just a bit over that line.

yea but they're not. watched on the news last night, all the residents (and by all i mean all the white people) have left the town in fear of "what might happen" at the rally and are "gladly waiting for friday"

Here I'll say what everyone should be thinking.

RE the noose. Lets not think black and white. Lets say your Jewish and I put an oven with a swastika in my front yard. You can be pissed, I would be a racist prick, and life would go on. The whole thing changes you go to your synagogue and come back with 5 friends. The only issue here should be did they do what they are accused of. If what is alleged is true thats attempted murder. Wanna argue it?/ Every state in the union including MA and CA allow the use of deadly force when retreat is precluded and there is more than one attacker. Same statues also say deadly force is only justifiable if your life in in immediate danger. So had he pulled out a weapon and put a few down would it be a clean shoot? If so then the charges should stand. If these six actually did it or not is for a jury to decide. Forget attempted murder, if I were the DA and these facts are true I would be looking at a hate charge or Rico.

And now for the un-popular part.

I think racism is one of the dumbest things. I have traveled abroad and lived near Jena, a few miles from southeast DC, and in the Techwood area of Atlanta. Having seen what goes on there, I can understand racism but not agree with it. Dave is apparently the missing aryan link. Hes a little Nazi and living where he does is not helping. With that racism is very much a part of our culture. It will be that way for a long time. Generations have to die of, before things will change. Think equal rights was only 40 years ago. There are people alive who were in their 60s when minorities gained the right to vote. With that many years of racism and distrust breed into society its not going to go away any time soon. What disturbs me is hearing people like Jesse, and Al call Obama too white. Rioting, discussing, debating, or protesting only makes these issues worse. Its sad but calling light to them will not fix them. Only time will fix this, and even only then if stereotypes are set aside and understanding ushers out age old cliches.

but i agree, racism and prejudice will not disappear in our lifetime or our children's lifetime thats just the way it is. i've never believed that people like al sharpton and jesse jackson can make a difference. they only cause uproar and demand instant retribution, but never a truly solid solution.

Just remember, be proud of who you are. Do we have a "White history month?" Hell no. DO blacks have a "black history month?" Hell yes. They also have BET, FUBU, and a slew of other black power bs. How come this is allowed? They are the ones starting the biggotry and "racism." I gurantee if we had a white entertainment television or FUWBU for us whites by us whites, we would all be hated and considered "racist." This is a total crock. If anything, black folk have more rights than we do, and thats a fact. Its only a matter of time until we are the minority and they are the ones really picking on whites. Lets face it, blacks dont dish out hate to mexicans or jews etc etc. Its always been black against white and white against black. I mean, I can't even go to the mall in Fairview Heights Illinois without feeling unfortable or have some black people flash gang signs etc at me or other white people. so what if blacks have BET, whites have VH1 and Mtv get real. and i wonder which hood is throwing up signs...cuz we all know the crips and bloods run rampant in the midwest your fear is based on the fear of the unknown, just like everyone else. everybody thinks they are the down trotten ones and everyone is beating on them. i grew up in "the hoods" of houston my mom's family is from 5th ward i used to go visit them and play ball at the housing project ball courts. i was the only asian throwing it down and the most i ever got was "go run your convience store" as a joke. now white people however, once we moved to the suburbs, my dad was worth millions in construction at the time, developed the "chinatown" in houston, i got looked down as some dirty refugee. i got called gook and chink and whatever other stupid stuff white people came up with, even though my family was the richest in the neighborhood.

everyone needs to stop acting like a victim and man the hell up and take care of your damn self. i hate hearing pissy stuff whining about how afirmative action is taking jobs away from the white man, immigrants are taking jobs from the americans. if its really that bad, cut your own damn grass, and farm your own damn food. stop outsourcing all your telemarketing and IT to freaking India, and stop watching the black man play football even though the white man grosses all the money in adveritsing revenue during the super bowl. people like to oh yeah! and moan, but when it comes to doing something all they can do is go and try to bring everyone else down to their level instead of bringing yourself and your fellow man up.
