If its flood damage, stay away. If it was wrecked and repaired and looks to be okay, go for it. If the car title was salvaged in PA, and you take it to NM, they likely will give you a clear title. I've seen several salvaged cars come in with clear titles, but have had salvage car history in another state. I don't know how it works, but it is possible. turbomoose Posted January 17, 2009 Report Share Posted January 17, 2009 Yeah, I bet things get by. Especially here in TX where it floods every year if you're in the valley areas. Lots of those cars just go to detail shops, get vacuumed and dried out. If there's hydrolocking to the engine, there's several salvage yards here and an engine is easily replaced. Young Burnsy Posted January 18, 2009 Report Share Posted January 18, 2009 I dunno where all you FL guys get your Volvo's but for the past five days I've been down in between the Kissimmee/Orlando and Tampa/Bradenton area and I've seen about 15 Volvo's and only one 850/S70, prolly 5 S60, 3 S80s, 6 or 7 S40s and a few XC90s.Shit, I see more donk caprices and 22" rims down here.Volvo's in MA are like rental cars down here.What gives? The inspection popped up a few things and we agreed on which he would fix, he also replaced the turbo because it burned oil something the dealer didnt find. I could have got burned admittedly. There is only one noticeable spot of damage i can find on the car. It is a small wrinkle in the inside fender on the drivers side.
