(on both points ) My main regret was not trying hard in gr.8/9 French and giving up on it after. I'm hoping to do well in this course and then go on further in learning the language. If it makes you feel any better, my wife did not learn until she was in college and could now pass as a native speaker. She has had many Embassy employees think she was French. Easy way to speed things along: listen to French speaking radio and repeat what they say as they say it, outloud.And overdo the accent, it'll help train your brain. I have it on my computer at home and I've used it a couple times, then I think I couldn't find a couple buttons for something, so I stopped and went back to Mozzila.
