get your CC paid off stat. nothing worse than having a bill waiting for you at the begining of a cycle.

I'm fortunate to not have any debt other than house, but you need to have your CC balance's 0 in case of an emergency.

That's great, excellent job!

I have been making a huge effort at it, I have about 1000 left between 4 cards. The one I paid off was my Goodyear CC from my tires/alignment deal. It was interest free until mid January but I only had 300 to go and said monkey it. So that's done, then I paid our quarterly water bill and monthly electric. When does it stop.

Wow, Aaron, that's good progress. I'm with Mike on not wanting debt. I'll hold off on something for months if I have to, but the idea of owing somebody doesn't sit right with me.

Thanks, I really have been trying. I've really only been doing car stuff when I absolutely can. Honestly I'm getting tired of the car. Ugh, that's a separate issue in itself.

Anyhow, owing money is a viscous cycle. I racked up a bunch of debt while on unemployment over a year and a half ago now and am finally sick of it. I really didn't want to apply for that Goodyear CC but I needed tires and the rebate with 6 months no interest intrigued me as I did not have ~700 to spend all at once.

I figure as long as I'm breathing and the wife and I are living somewhat healthy things will be just fine. We just have to make sure there is constantly income. :)

I dont buy anything on CC that I cant pay off right away or with in 6 months.

And anything I do buy with CC better be 0% intrest till its paid off deal or its a no go

Great way to manage CC's!

I made the mistake of racking up balances, making slightly higher than minimum payments and continuing to use them which obviously got me no where.

i think thats pretty standard for most right now. the key is keeping it managable. From a credit standpoint. keeping a slight balance is better than having 0 forever.

good on you two for not going nutty with the wedding and ringing up a huge debt. thats usually the killer for new couples.

be aware and you'll take care of it.

Yeah, thats a tough spot for any couple getting married.

With my ring, it was $103 after tax since I wanted a strong ring and durable... so I got titanium.

With her ring I battled places against each other making them thing I was going to use their credit card to purchase it and then they lowered the price and then when I got the best deal ($xxxx below what they had it listed) I told them I was going to use my Amex BLUE with 0% financing for 12 months and they were pissed... but I got her ring!

I bought her wedding band with cash which I had been saving up from the 12 months no interest for $1800.

Credit Cards are the devil if you have horrible balance or APR%. I hardly use my CC.

Right now the only debt I have is my student loans and OH does it feel oh so good.

My CC was cancelled because I "didn't use it enough"

except the limit was 500... couldn't even buy books with it, so I just used it for groceries and gas, only carried a balance one month. Now I need to find another CC so I can build some credit again. Probably doesn't look good on my score having a card cancelled even though it was for not spending enough monkey.gif

oh and hopefully I'll graduate without any student debt. In state tuition + scholar ships FTW. I pay more in 4 months rent than for tuition for a year wacko.gif
