Sooo I moved in to the house this weekend. I fucked up my back bad Friday night (won't be a surprise to those who know about my back) just moving basic shit in, so I laid on the floor unable to move while I watched everyone else move my shit. It sucked in so many ways. While at the store with my mom, unable to stand up for more than 10 minutes at a time, she tried to convince me to get one of those motorized wheelchairs  It's pathetic. I can't thank the people who helped enough. But we're in the house now, and it's so sweet.

I was buying lightbulbs at Home Depot and while I was picking out the light bulbs, I felt like I was "upgrading" my home  HIDzzzzz

alden, what type of quality of life to you expect when your older? if its this bad now.......

I don't have high expections. I'm still seeing doctors trying to get this shit under control, but right now, I don't feel very confident. I did finally find a doctor I like though, took a while with that one.

Unfortunately most of the problem is left to muscular issues, not something operable. They could crack me open and try to fix up the disc so I don't have the complication of nerve pain, but that isn't my primary problem these days.

LOL the "good" thing that came from the back problem is that I've been exercising more than I ever have. Gym 3 times a week, and I'm trying to get in as much biking as I can. Unforunately, that still isn't enough, but I'm hoping to make it a more regular thing. Also, the house means I'll have room to start accumulating some gym equipment. Going to try and build a home-gym in the basement to make sure I have zero execuses for missing a workout.

I think I basically "fell" so far, that it's just going to take a really long time until everything is back the way it should be. I'm still not convinced I am standing correctly, I'm constantly checking myself the way I'm sitting, and I'm still trying to rebuild the muscle in my back. The complication is that I can't do that too fast. A few weeks ago I was at the gym and I had sciatica so bad I couldn't move for ~5 minutes and lost some of the dexterity in my left foot for the remainder of the day. I think it's just a matter of time, and I'm meeting with the doc at least once a month so we can refine the game plan where needed. Took a while to let myself go this bad, probably going to take just as long if not longer to get things back in order.

Kiddies, hit the gym and always lift with your legs

Have you done any physical therapy? Not sure what kind of back issues you have but i got a few messed up discs and therapy helped a ton, especially that amazing "traction" machine. Work on building your abs and core muscles to take some of the strain off your back. If i stop working abs for a few weeks i can feel it in my back.

Twice, two months the first time, three months the second. First time was a joke and a waste of time/money. Second time was with a significantly better place and helped a ton. But they did all they could and now I have to resolve the rest of the issues. I deffinitely had a terribly weak core, which was a huge factor in a lot of the pain I was having. Still focusing on it at the gym, but I've still got a lot of problems in my upper back.

i think the problem is trying to label an area, upper back, lower back, core etc.

You're right, the whole thing is useless and broken

Enough whining from me.

So I've got some awesome massive Pioneer 3-way tower speaker cabinets and I need you guys to convince me to keep them. They sound soooo great, but they take up a lot of room. Girlfriend hates them, and she's got me thinking I really don't need something as big. Maybe I need to sell them and get something smaller.

Not bose cubes.
