So after finally getting my bike parts in a month after placing the order, due to back order, I'm scrambling to assemble everything on Friday night because the girlfriend finally said she wanted to go out of a bike ride on Saturday. And I'm sure many people here know that any physical stuff for me moves a lot slower. Since my Kenda tires are a BITCH to fit on the rim, I spent a while fighting with it and ended up pinching a tube, FUCK. So I replace it, go out for the ride, all is well. Until I get a flat on the other tire. Replace that road-side, and continue on. Only to hear a hissing from the brand new front t ire I had just fucking replaced! Miserable lucky today.

The RynoLites I bought were said to be a comparatively heavy rim. Good news is, even if they are, they seem a pinch lighter than my OEM Avid's that were weak as toothpicks. First time using presta valves too, and I already love them. Except I just found that my hand-pump doesn't get a very good seal on the prestas. Need to get a new one anyway.

You can get presta valve adapters for maybe $1 or less.

Don't complain about mounting tires until you've tried to mount a Continental mtb tire, biggest pain in the arse. I've spent 40 minutes wrestling with mine trying to get it to jump on the rim.

I dunno, never tried a conti, but it sounds like my Kenda is a similar problem. I dunno about 40 minutes, but maybe 20-30. Two or three flat head screw drivers, tire wrench etc. It's like wrestling with a small kid. I know about the adapters, but my pump sucks ass anyway, so I'll probably just drop the money this time to get one that doesn't suck and waste my energy.

In other news, using volvo-issued (or homebrew) cam restrainting tool, is it possible to remove the cam cover while the cams and timing belt remain fixed to the top of the head?

How's the heat been up your way so far this year?

Yes, random I know.

About two weeks ago we had a few back to back 100+ degree days, sucked. :(

Speaking of random. I still love your car. Nicest red Volvo on this site. hahaha

Actually my wife who is far from a car person, wants me to find her one like yours.

If your woman likes it, and you like it, buy it! I doubt you'll find another car you both like any time soon.
