7 VII 7
Client: I love this photo you took, LOVE IT. Can you photoshop the background out, crop it tighter, and remove this other person? Me: Sure, it'll be $100 an hour to do that and take at least two. Client: You can't do it for free? That's absurd. Me: sigh. haha, this reminds me of David Thorne and his Spider drawing for payment and his Lost Cat poster... not to mention the charts for free I think the guy from Rhode Island with the bad back and junk food addiction would really love his work. Sorry for not remembering you name I am exhausted. Edited November 8, 2011 by gdizzle
Owned
what a fuckin day.... so last night i went to bed around 11 or 11:15, and this morning i wake up around 7 with a bit of a backache. thinking it was just a pulled muscle or a pinched nerve i put some ice on it. didn't help. went and took a hot shower. didn't help. more ice and a glass of water. neither helped. tried sitting down and lying down on either side, nothing helped ease the pain. getting worse and worse, the pain started spreading around my stomach and was getting so bad i couldn't even think. ended up throwing up from being so uncomfortable. and of course not having health insurance, emergency room was the last resort. called my family members to see what i could do but to no avail. ended up going to the ER doubled over in pain (i have a pretty high pain tolerance but it was just unbearable). put me on some kind of morphine drip for the pain and it definitely helped. went through a CAT scan and turns out i have a kidney stone. all that shit for a 2mm stone. i'm sure it's gonna feel wonderful when that passes. they gave me a script for percocet and flomax to help with passing it and the pain. rough day today. Sweet. That'll only be $5,000-$6,000. The best part is you will have simultaneous bills for everyone who talked to you. As far as medical debt, as long as you're paying something every 30 days you will be OK. Even if they refuse to setup a payment plan. I've read some of his online stuff before and loved it. Maybe some day I'll read his book, but I'm busy catching up on life these days. RobT5M
Soooo its down to a 1996 VW Jetta GLS 1800 Needs paint job, got some dings but nothing major, needs front strut bushing and alingment (its not too bad) ac needs recharge a 1997 VOLVO 850 SEDAN AUTO 3000 R interior , 132,789-HYW-MILES and a 1997 BMW 328I 1500 with a maf problem. 180,000 MILES and needs an alignment... for the wifes first car. She wont want the 850 so I guess thats out the door just because its an 850 and she wants a 70 series if its going to be a volvo. Looking for her Christmas present. I wouldnt mind parking that VW or any of the 3 next to mine.... and all 3 are easy fixes, and I know plenty of people in all 3 communities. Thought and what to look for on the BMW and VW? Would love to hear them.
RBoy8
If the Jetta is an automatic, I'd stay away from it. MkIII automatics known to go, from what I recall.

They're plentiful at the JY too so easy to get parts. I actually kinda miss my MkIII. It was fun to just whip around here and there. Didn't drive like a boat.
cheapwagon
3 cars that you may be repairing constantly??? I know your young and newly wed but I would not put my wife in an older Euro car unless I absolutely knew it was in great running condition. It will be tough to find that in this the sub 3k price range.

Fudge_Brownie
Jetta is totally a girl car so.... she'll probably like it I'd also think Jetta is going to have the lowest cost on parts.
