I guess I should've used a "wood conditioner" first? Had sanded it down pretty evenly too. Oh well, I'll do that next time I refinish it. If people ask I'll say it's a unique hand rubbed finish to obtain a desired "antique look". lol.

Call me crazy but I kind of like it. At least based on that picture. I've been wanting to build a dining room table with some rad wood top soooo Travis you're my emergency tip contact for that

You must have been glamoured by the super glossy finish! It looks alright in dim lighting. With the room brightly lit, it looks like a train-wreck. So I might be able to replicate this look for you when the time comes, Reid. If this is what you are after.

melvin, what type of wood?

Actually, I don't know...here's the picture of the table after sanding...are you able to tell from the grain and color? It's from Malaysia.

Welp, I think my father and I have taught my brother well. He now has been talking about and looking for either a Volvo 740, or an 850/S70. He said if he goes with an 850/x70, it HAS to be manual.

I think it would be nice if he got an 850/x70... then I can give him my Kilen lowering springs and assortment of other parts. :)
