Fudge_Brownie
Unfortunately we live in a world where that sign is necessary. Common sense is not very common anymore.I'm not sure that has not to do with a change in common sense. There's always been a village idiot or five. It's more because everything has liability insurance, because "we" kept awarding liability lawsuits. So now everything has an insurer who get pissed if you don't avoid all common sense related problems.
matt b
Why can't we let the idiots do their part to clean up the gene pool ?!

survolvo
Like Alden said everyone/thing has liability insurance, it would be nice if we could do that, but it would end up costing everyone money. We get a lot of these liability things around here. I am constantly trying to stay ahead of the guests and making stupid warning signs for anything and everything. We have had someone try to sue us because they broke a toe by stubbing it on a rock in the walkway. Now all the walkways have to have signs saying "uneven surface, loose gravel, watch your step" There are many many more little stupid signs like that all around just so we cover our ass from idiots and scamming scumbags. pdlarson
Lawyer mode. That's what I call it when you can just tell stuff is the way it is because of lawyers or fear of litigation. My Chevy is awful about lawyer mode. Memory seat functions only work in park, same for the adjustable pedals, the touchscreen nav functions are severely restricted while moving over 5MPH, and lots of other B.S. like that. And you just know it is because someone will plow through a crowd of people and blame it on the memory seat went nuts or whatever feature that they didn't understand. The trouble is the idiots can kill us too but I still hate lawyer mode!!! Why don't sharks eat lawyers... ...Profesional courtesy

The only thing that is worse are the people that are the reason its there. Whoever is messing with the seats at 75mph through traffic and not watching the road, crashes, and then sues because of the seats should have their kneecaps shot. Twice. survolvo
Its kinda like the warning on the iPd cam lock. Although the warning does not interfere at all with anything, I just think it is funny that they have to write that on there. I think anyone using the tool should be smart enough to know not to start the car, but with everyone sue happy and trying to make a quick buck instead of working, its a necessity to cover their asses. Just like the signs we have on property, "Dangerous Cliff, Stay Back." They are not going to stop someone from crossing the ropes and going to the cliffs edge. But just in case they do and fall off of it, it was posted to stay back, they didn't stay back, their SOL.
