When adding a factory amp to a car, how do the wires/plugs work out? Especially when putting it under the passenger seat? I never understood that. Do you have to buy a factory harness-type cable to run from the deck to the amp? And then how do you plug the speaker inputs in to the amp? Same thing, extender cable? Are these bluebox parts?

I actually searched for a little while about this and wasn't able to find any clear info.

Don't know but I know Jim (JRL) has done it a few times. Daniel installed it also on his S70. He can provide the full details if you want.

The factory 4x50 amp comes with a harness to interface with the factory HU and wiring in the dash cubby. It goes along the side of the center console to the dash, then routes up and into the stereo dash opening.

Ah, sounds like this is the key :

"When Volvo adds the amp, theyve come up with a nifty cable assembly that has the DIN from HU to amp,

the speaker return leads from the amp back up to the HU location and then amp power all in one tidy package."

So it's like two cables bundled together designed to run down under the seat and take the signal back up to the dash.
