Burn-E
I think Gramps has writing that looks an awful lot like that of a high school age girl. Anyway, here's the photo: And here's the imgur thread: http://imgur.com/ik7vo The comments are awesome too.
Mossback
This guy? http://www.dot.ca.gov/dist4/dslide/ Looks like it was a cool project, hope it was worth the $440million. Damn, shows what I know, I drove through there in the summer of 2012 and didn't see any inkling of the project.(they hid it well) No more closures. In Washington, they would charge a toll to use something that shiny.
Fudge_Brownie
Wow. I was trying to imagine what this tattoo was going to be like. Maybe some super trashy terribly done cartoon across their forearm? But all that crying over something that's relatively low-key? Easily hidden with a shirt, fairly socially acceptable, not very dark, cryptic or 'alternative'.

Fudge_Brownie
Closed minded old peopleSure, to some degree. But I think generational differences are a huge factor. He's so concerned that his daughter has become a pariah. And that she'll be shunned and discriminated against because he's unaware of the significant changes in social acceptance. Especially modest and discrete ones.Tell that to Mike. Nah, he's hopeless. I'm just going to give his oldest's a gift certificate to a nearby tattoo shop as an 18th birthday gift.Really though, I think even he'd agree that style, size, and location play a big role in how socially unacceptable a tattoo is. survolvo
That's bold, hope it works, I heard up north at Devils Slide they just decided to build a complete bypass of 1 on the coast. Yea, they opened the tunnel a little while ago, have not been through it yet. Took them 8 years to build it. They are going to open the old Hwy 1 as a foot/bike path soon I have read. I agree there move was bold. My prediction is that the rockshed is so heavy, that its going to end up taking that whole mountain down into the ocean some day... specially if we get a big shaker. The problem here is there is no where else to go with a road really. If it does slide out, I invision them just giving up on it and not having this strech of the coast road, diverting it to the 101 from Monterey/ Salinas down to San Luis Obispo. And lose a major tourist attraction? Dont think they would do that unless like you say, they got a big quake and it took out a whole chunk of roadway. All a matter of how much money they want to throw at it I guess. How many inches did you guys say you lose every year to erosion?
survolvo
The property I am on loses 3-6" a year. Some places around here lose even more than that. Not sure if you remember the Lucia Lodge, about 10 miles south of me, just north of the bridge, but around there it sinks a over a foot a year. Sometime the highway will drop 2 or more feet during a good storm.
