Got like an inch of snow here. I drove around fine all day on "summer tires" with no problem. Yet 90% of the state is like ...

My sister in-law lives in Atlanta and it took her 2.5hr to get home. She said it was a nightmare... Good thing her friend had an AWD Subaru to get her around, her POS Kia would have left here stranded.

My uncle's dealership just got 3 V50 T5 AWDs. Here's a pic he sent me of one:

Any Polestars yet? I'd jump ship to that in a heartbeat if I could swing the payments....

Mike is more that you all have to deal with it every year. I heard the news saying some students at Georgia Tech had never seen snow... Combine that with a lack of plows, salt and a good wintercoat...

My sister in-law has only driven in snow once in her life (she's 30!) having grown up in S. Florida. Her husband who grew up upstate NY was laughing at everyone on the roads, cause it's nothing to him...

They say the weather forecast in Alabama is what screwed up the placement of the limited salt and plow trucks for their State but it's more likely that people didn't really pay attention. Once the roads turned to ice the game was over. My brother who lives in ATL said he counted at least a dozen accidents on his road in the space of a couple hours. It was like the Seattle hillside videos you see when it snows.

ATL weatherman calling out Georgia politicians and public for not comprehending what a weather watch means...

One observation that has become apparent to me is that the public and perhaps some policy officials may not fully understand that a Watch, Warning, or Advisory has very specific meanings. They are not just generic “hey, be on alert” or “hey, get ready” warnings.

I use a freight forwarder based on Atlanta a lot. I received a few emails from them last night around 9-10 pm, called for shits and giggles and sure enough: 1/2 of their staff stayed in the office overnight. Why ? It took one of their employees 18 hours to get home because of bro trucks flipped over at 2-3 mile intervals on a 25 mile drive home.....

It's pathetic and funny all at once.

Because her Kia had shitty tires on it? Or she's a terrible driver? Otherwise, I fail to see how she would have been stranded.

No word on the Polestars yet, but word from VCNA is they (dealership) are getting some of the turbo & supercharged 4 cyl's in a couple weeks. VCNA wants them to drive the new V60s around for a bit and get used to the new engine and trans for a bit before they go on sale. Not a bad gig if you ask me
