This should go in the "List Something That Pissed You Off" thread, but hopefully more will respond here...

Any of you guys that have a Samsung S5 phone pissed off about the recent update? A phone that was incredible is now insanely buggy, voicemail layout is borderline idiotic (can't use it w/out accidentally calling someone or canceling the voicemail), and the worst part is the battery life now. My battery used to make it a day and half, 2 days; now I'm lucky to get 9 hours out of it. Trying to figure make sense out of why in the world they did it; nothing changed for the better and now it's a POS. My son's S4 mops the floor with my S5 now.

Called Verizon, they told me Samsung is working on releasing a new update ASAP, but didn't know exactly when it would be released. This should get interesting; at this point, IMO, this phone is defective. I think I'll give Verizon about 2 weeks, then they'll be getting me a new phone (that isn't an S5) that's at least equal to what the S5 should be.

Will do. The restaurant the team wanted to go to didn't really pan out as what I would call decent food for the price. Next time I'll bow out as feeling ill and you can show me a better venue.

I've always wanted to shake your hand Alain

Get a vpn subscription from a service that has exit points in the UK for example. I cut cable about 18 months ago and don't miss much.

There are browser plugins that do that now.

People still have cable/satellite TV. Whats next a land line?!

I actually went to cancel my cable entirely, but thanks to the wonders of local-monopoly supported pricing structures, it was almost dumb not to switch to their new plan. It was ~$10/mo extra to keep half my channels, gain HBO, and go up to 100mbps/dl than it was to get 25mbps internet alone. It's a promo price for two years, and after that it'll be bonkers expensive. So either I cancel then, or see if they wanna play the same game. I was all ready for some ridiculous bill at the end of the month that didn't match at all my conversation on the phone, so I was surprised when it was just as described. I wonder how much of this is games so they can claim they sitll have cable subscribers, to try and minimize just how many are leaving.

As for the VPN etc, thanks for the tips, I know the drill. I'm actually several seasons behind on TopGear, so I wasn't too worried - I'll get it through NetFlix. But for some strange reason I like flipping on BBC and getting excited that TopGear is on, even though I know I could flip over to NetFlix and pick-choose. I'm consciously aware of how dumb that is and don't understand why I like it.

Sounds good! If you don't mind me asking, what restaurant was it?

La Taverna in Dayton. Seemed like a fun bar but the appetizers were average and the lamb shank was overdone. Looked others had better dishes so it could have been my selections.

I tried to convince them to drive to Princeton but the team wasn't up for the drive.

I go to my local TWC office every year and talk to a person. They are happy to keep me on my first year special for internet.

The latest update, Android 5.0 lollipop.

Same here except mine comes and goes. It will be fine for a day and then all of a sudden out of nowhere the thing is incredibly laggy, gets super hot and I can watch the battery life go down. Happened today in the garage; I couldn't do anything on the phone, it got hot, and the battery went from 70% down to 40% in a few minutes. Restarted it and all of a sudden the battery was where it should be and it was operating smoothly.

It's always fine once I restart it, but It's definitely not right though.
